The Series that were

Whilst many people are busy setting goals for 2016 and some still reflecting on 2015 I thought I go back since the beginning of this blog and look at some of the series I started on this blog and then abandoned. I also want to look at why I abandoned these series when starting them was so much fun.

Have you ever done that, started a series then to abandone it after a couple of months?

Live Life & Love – I loved this series big time and I enjoyed putting the posts together but after a few months it became tiring. Why? Because I was doing it weekly and came to a point where I was so busy and most of the things I was sharing in the post I would have somehow covered it in another post in another way.

GBU – This series was a huge time favourite of mine but suffered the same fate as Live Life & Love and mostly because of the same reasons. This series allowed me to shared the good (G) the bad (B) and the ugly (U) and as much fun as it was it came to a point where since I am a positive person I still put the ugly as only bad when the ugly category was perfect for it. For me if something is out in the ugly category then it’s worse than bad and since I don’t like to deal on bad and seem to have alternate reality when facing tough things I upgraded them to only bad. After a while I missed a couple and that really spelled the end of the series.

What have I learnt, as much as it is/was nice to have these series doing them weekly was just not for me after a while. If I start a series again on this blog I will make sure it is a monthly thing so that I have enough time to think about it, maybe experience it or even do it like the way I do my monthly goals.

Have you ever been in a similar situation before on your blog?

The only things I have kept up regularly are my photo challenges but others seem to fall by the wayside

I am so bad at weekly series now but hope to maintain the monthly ones

Absolutely I do this all the time on my blog. It frustrates me but it’s because I try and do too much. I agree monthly is definitely more achievable than weekly.

Thanks, I feel the same and it’s a shame for some series

I know some series get a new lease of life whilst others become chores

Oh I start things all the time – with the very best intentions, but I underestimate the time needed to continue them! Kaz x

I know right, it’s crazy but such is life

I completely understand. I started a linky before but life and other blog posts got in the way. It ended up being a chore and I didn’t enjoy it. X

Running a series on a blog is tough. Staying to the schedule is something I find hard when there are so many demands on your time. I think it’s ok to run with it when it fits and come back to it when you’ve had a break though

      Thanks Zena I agree

I’m relatively new to the blogging scene and don’t have any series! I just write as and when on things that interest me which works for us! I can see why you gave up after a while, I guess it can become a chore x

It absolutely started to feel like a chore so I gave up
