{Guest Post} Gorgeous Bathroom Design Ideas

Did you know that, throughout life, we spend over 2 years in the bathroom? According to statistics, men spend about 2 years and 125 days in the bathroom while women spend just 2 years and 40 days in there. The best part is that, most of the time, we just want to relax and enjoy some time with ourselves by bathing, using cosmetics, or simply browsing social media.

The bathroom is definitely a space where both the body and soul can relax and be spoiled. Now, this will not happen if your bathroom looks dull and uninviting. Remember those interior design ideas for a gorgeous bathroom you saw online? Many of those can be easily applied to your bathroom with a bit of skill and imagination.

Let’s see a few design ideas that could completely change the atmosphere in your bathroom.

Include the powder room

If you have the necessary space, the powder room (or area) could be included in the bathroom. To create a romantic, dreamy space, add a beautiful, antique chest with curves to contain all your cosmetics and lotions. You’ll feel like a damsel in her castle, preparing for bed.

Change the tub

The bath tub is the crown jewel of the bathroom, and one of the most important pieces of furniture in there. If you have a traditional tub, it’s time to consider one that resembles the ones you saw in interior design magazines. With curved edges and a shape specially designed to fit perfectly inside, this tub can be placed in any area of the bathroom. You can even be bold enough to situate it in the center or under a large window.

Go all white

White is the traditional color you find in a bathroom. However, many don’t seem to understand the beauty and elegance a completely white bathroom brings. Of course, the quality and style of the materials used for decoration is also important.

A few interior design ideas that will completely transform your white bathroom into a royal space are as follows:

  • Cover the walls and floors with elegant marble that features a delicate design
  • Paint all the counters and closets in white
  • Use beautiful glass sheets to separate the shower area from the rest of the bathroom

To increase the contrast, you can always add a plant that likes humidity and shades. The powerful green will look fantastic in the all-white bathroom.

Use the mirrors & windows

Most people tend to design small windows for their bathrooms, but this is a huge mistake. If you have access to a gorgeous view, sitting in the tub and admiring the sunset is one of the most relaxing experiences you’ll ever find.

That’s why if you have a large window, make sure to use it correctly. If not, you can use mirrors to trap the natural light and create the idea of space. Even more, you can set a great, romantic mood using gilt mirrors and an elegant wallpaper.

As you see, there are a lot of ideas that will help you improve the bathroom area. With a few tricks, you can create diversity and elegance without redesigning the entire space. Even more, you can extend the atmosphere from the bathroom to the bedroom and create a gorgeous boudoir where you’ll be the princess.

A window is a big thing we miss having in our bathroom as it can often feel quite dark! We have opted for a large mirror where the window used to be which has definitely opened up the room! x
