{Beauty} L’oreal Lipsticks

Before my trip to Seoul earlier this month I decided to do a little bit of shopping for my friend and for myself. Those who know me know of my love for lipsticks. I was only 6 when I first fell in love with a red lipstick my mum used to rock. Every time there was an event she was attending she always wore red lipstick unless it somehow clashed with her outfit (which was rare) then she would just use lip balm or gloss. I am not a big fun of lip gloss and the lip balms I use them mostly at home when I am chillaxing as I never leave my house without slapping some lipstick on usually a red one.

I rarely go for other lip shades but when I do they tend to be bright pinks, purple or lilac but definitely no nudes as I don’t think they go well ok with my kind of skin tone.

L'oreal Paris Collection

Even though I am a huge lipstick lover I have never actually bought any L’Oreal lip products before, a totally new experience for me. For the last couple of years I was stuck on MAC’s Ruby woo which I still have and love then I slowly moved to Mirabella lipsticks and these are my daily wear lipsticks and they work so wonderfully.

As I am all about trying new things, I picked up L’oreal Paris Collection Exclusive color riche by Blake in Blake’s Pure Red (I just love my reds), L’oreal Paris color riche matte shade 430 mon jules and lastly a lip liner shade 374 intense plum.

I have little to no experience with lip liners as they don’t usually work well for me. Somehow they smudge easily and just ruin my entire look so I avoid them. But in the name of trying new things I took the plunge and tried this lip liner and I am impressed.

  • It glides on easily
  • Though fades after a couple of teas, it does have a lovely shade
  • Doesn’t smell
  • Doesn’t smudge easily
  • Keeps the lipstick in check

Where shall I start with the beautiful shade of colour. Like I have mentioned many a time in my lipstick posts, I love my reds but this shade right here is where it is at.

  • The packaging is awesome, I mean just look at it
  • The colour lasts long even though it transfers easily
  • It has an incredible intensity
  • Doesn’t easily smudge
  • I look good wearing it

I love my reds and there is no two ways about it. I have loved reds since I was six years old and the love ain’t fading. This as my first time trying this lipstick and I was super impressed

  • Lasts really long, does transfer too but a lot less compared to other lipsticks
  • Both good and bad is the intensity of the lipstick, I have had to use lip stick remover to remove all the paint it leaves behind
  • Smudges a lot less compared to other brands
  • Has a lovely scent to it
  • Perfect casing

I am truly loving these lipsticks and highly recommend them to my fellow lipstick lovers.

What do you think of the colours I chose?

I love both of these colors. I’ve been trying to plunge deeper into the world of make up by trying budget friendly brands. While I love MAC just as much as the next girl, spending $18+ one one tube of lipstick isn’t conducive to quickly growing an arsenal of lip popping colors. I’ll have to give these two a try.

I know what you mean it’s crazy

  9. May 19, 2016 / 3:23 pm

I would love to be able to wear such bold colours – With my skin tone though, you would see me coming for miles! My favourite lipsticks so far are the L’Oreal ones – lovely and creamy and long lasting.

    • May 19, 2016 / 4:27 pm

Hahahaha I love bold colours well mostly reds

  10. May 19, 2016 / 1:06 pm

I don’t tend to wear lipstick but I am now obsessed with the intense plum colour! It is stunning! Fabulous review lovely & great choice of colours! x

    • May 19, 2016 / 1:15 pm

      Thanks so much Becky

  11. May 19, 2016 / 10:12 am

I love the 430 lipstick! Such a bold colour and unlike anything I currently have in my makeup bag. Good to hear it lasts long too because I hate it when really strong colours start to fade and it makes your lips look a bit weird midway through the night :/

    • May 19, 2016 / 12:35 pm

      I know right it’s amazing

  12. May 19, 2016 / 9:53 am

Great review! I’ve never had a lot of luck with lipsticks myself, but I love the colors you chose! I might just have to splurge and try one myself!

Thanks, I am the same 99% it’s red I am leaving the house wearing

  16. May 18, 2016 / 11:58 pm

The smudging is part of the reason that I am into wearing liquid lipsticks more because you have less of an issue with that x

    • May 19, 2016 / 2:21 am

I never thought about liquid lipsticks before, thanks for the suggestion.

  17. May 18, 2016 / 9:58 pm

I think red lipsticks look amazing, but lipsticks just don’t stay on me, no matter what I do! I like L’Oreal though – their eyeshadows are really nice.

    • May 18, 2016 / 10:05 pm

Hahaha I was like that before but not sure what changed and now they stay, maybe my technique??

  18. May 18, 2016 / 9:42 pm

I actually like Loreal as brand.I think their quality and price is good. These lip shades are beautiful

    • May 18, 2016 / 10:04 pm

That’s so true, they are good brand and reasonably priced

  19. May 18, 2016 / 8:28 pm

It sounds like these are really nice lipsticks.I love the colours.

    • May 18, 2016 / 8:35 pm

      They definitely are

  20. May 18, 2016 / 7:14 pm

These look lovely – I never wore lipsticks for years as I always felt too dressed up, and I still love a lipgloss, but I’ve got quite a collection of reds and brights for those days I want a pop of colour with no real effort. I do love MAC but will have to check these out.

    • May 18, 2016 / 8:34 pm

I am over lipgloss but I never say never lol

  21. May 18, 2016 / 5:59 pm

That deep red is absolutely beautiful – I have to admit I don’t experiment with lipstick colours as much as I should perhaps.

    • May 18, 2016 / 6:29 pm

Thanks Sarah, I am trying to experiment now

  22. May 18, 2016 / 5:53 pm

I just can not pull of a plum colour to save my life! But I adore the blake’s red. It’s a beautiful colour! x

    • May 18, 2016 / 6:28 pm

      I am loving Blake’s red too,it’s gorgeous

Those lipsticks look beautiful, I love the purple colour.

    • May 18, 2016 / 5:43 pm

      Thanks James

  24. May 18, 2016 / 3:43 pm

I have like, no lips. Well, I do, but they are so small that lipstick looks really odd on me. It makes me sad, as I love these colours.

    • May 18, 2016 / 5:40 pm

      Awww bless you

  25. May 18, 2016 / 3:02 pm

I cannot pull off a bright red shade of lipstick. If I try it I look like Ruby Wax. Not a good look.

    • May 18, 2016 / 3:05 pm

Hahaha not sure who Ruby Wax is lo

    • May 18, 2016 / 2:37 pm

      Thanks

  26. May 18, 2016 / 1:38 pm

I have never actually tried any Loreal make-up before. I can never find a lipstick that I love though so I might have to try these out x

    • May 18, 2016 / 2:07 pm

I hope you do as they are really good

  27. May 18, 2016 / 1:22 pm

I have to agree with you…I love my lipsticks too! Not a fan of gloss, don’t really like the sticky texture. I wish I had the confidence to rock a red like you my comfort zone is definitely toward the pinks.

    • May 18, 2016 / 1:36 pm

Thanks Sarah, I want the confidence for pinks too

  28. May 18, 2016 / 10:44 am

I don’t buy l’real a lot but when I do I remember how much I love their products. The colours are always so intense and the packaging is stunning.

    Corinne x

    • May 18, 2016 / 11:12 am

The colours are intensity and the packaging a too pretty

  29. May 18, 2016 / 10:26 am

I’m an if I’ve got time kinda girl ha ha you’ve def chosen my colours though. I have dark eyes and olive skin, reds and Browns always look so dramatic on me, funnily enough, I always use lip liner, even just day to day…. I like to enhance my lips because I have sensitive eyes and can’t have too much make up around them.

It’s so easy to just pick up the old faithfuls. For my wedding the makeup artist convinced me to go for a vibrant pink. It looked amazing but I’ve not tried it again

    • May 18, 2016 / 10:57 am

Hahahaha I like to keep it easy too with old faithful but happy to try new ones

    • May 18, 2016 / 10:37 am

      It is isn’t it

  30. May 18, 2016 / 10:14 am

oh my gosh I love Korea. We went there twice and it was fab. The lipsticks are brilliant. i like the 430 shade best! Angela from Daysinbed

    • May 18, 2016 / 10:37 am

Thanks Angela, yes I love Korea it was my third time going.

  31. May 18, 2016 / 7:58 am

Great choices, I really like the Pure Red one. I may have to go and treat myself now 🙂

    • May 18, 2016 / 8:19 am

      Thanks Yvonne

  32. May 18, 2016 / 7:50 am

Fab choices. I’m a MAC girl, but I should really get out of the habit of going for the same ones all the time. It’s good to mix it up X

    • May 18, 2016 / 8:18 am

It’s nice to mix it up, I was a MAC girl for the longest time
