During our recent Adventures to Portmeirion in North Wales, we decided to stop for Lunch at Hotel Portmeirion. Hotel Portmeirion runs an award winning restaurant that has a great reputation for its ambitious and innovative. The restaurant mostly uses locally sourced ingredients which the chefs use to curate innovative dishes.
One thing we were informed of as we arrived at the restaurant was non-residents require booking. Though the restaurant didn’t look full during our lunch visit, almost all the tables where booked. We were lucky and got a table without booking and enjoyed Lunch at Hotel Portmeirion. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and I really recommend the lamb burger, absolutely divine.
Lunch at Hotel Portmeirion
After spending what felt like hours on hours exploring the Italian village of Portmeirion, we were peckish. Though there were other options available to us, we just wanted to have Lunch at Hotel Portmeirion. From the outside you can tell this was a top quality restaurant and we were eager to eat here.
Lunch at Hotel Portmeirion starts at 12.00 until 2pm, non-residents can enter Portmeirion free with a lunch reservation. Though it is not guaranteed, you can turn up at the hotel and take your chances. We also loved that they offer Afternoon Tea which looked absolutely delicious priced at £20pp. Lunch at Hotel Portmeirion was everything and more than we anticipated, here is what we had.
We both decided to order large plates instead of small plates and skipped starters and dessert. Luciana (Foodiepls) opted for Stone bass with a shellfish & roasted lemon risotto, dill and fennel salad priced at £18.00. And I chose the Welsh lamb burger, merguez sausagerelish, feta, mint yoghurt priced at £16.00 and Hand cut chips £3.00 to share.
The food was absolutely delicious we cleaned our plates and were very satisfied. Looking at the plates, the food didn’t look that filling but it certainly was. We chose to have cider and a hot beverage to accompany the meal.
