Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Shopping Made Easy ~ MyBuddy-Box

mybuddybox

DSCF2629 DSCF2625 DSCF2622DSCF2670

DSCF2630I remember the first time I went grocery shopping for myself when I first started sharing an apartment. It was a fun and very annoying experience for me, let me elaborate. Without my boo around to help me carry things around and not budgeting properly I ended up spending all the money I had and did not leave any money for transportation (bus/taxis) so this left me in a bit of a pickle – I had to walk a very long distance home with more shopping bags than I care to mention and most of us (at least in the UK) know how flimsy the store ‘free’ store bags are. Needless to say I had not even left the supermarket parking lot before half of my shopping was on the floor. I was so annoyed that since then whenever I go shopping without the steel enforced bags (just kidding) I always use double bags which is helpful but not a solution but fret not my dear friends I have found a replacement that is both cute, strong, durable and absolutely needed. Not forgetting the best solution to the plastic bag tax being introduced in the UK so this little miracle will help you save on that too.

buddy box

A few weeks ago I was given an opportunity to try out ‘MyBuddy-Box‘ which I will confess right now is pretty awesome but currently not been used as often as I would like. When I first received the buddybox I was a little confused because I thought someone had sent me a very cute laptop bag but then I opened it and it expanded and then I understood the purpose. When you open the box the first thing you notice it how pretty and strong the box is, I love how easy it is to open up and close up when not in use. This box is so stylish it can make your handbags run for the closet space. I can see this being a big hit with my family and friends as it can be used in countless ways not only to be steel enforced carrier bag but could be used as a storage box or spontaneous picnic box. I am in love with this buddybox and definitely recommend to everyone who had suffered the pain even humiliation of torn plastic carrier bags. This box is made from 100% recycled polyethene, can pack upto 20Kg and it’s guaranteed for life.

About MyBuddy-box and their mission

We manufacture and sell here in the UK a unique consumer product called MyBuddy-Box which is an attractive, long-lasting, folding, stackable box, which we have designed to give customers a better and practical alternative to single-use carriers and ‘floppy’bags. It is the green alternative to the plastic bags as we make them in 100% recycled material, thus making them 100% recyclable. We digitally print them in a number of different fun and eye catching designs.  They protect your food and save you time at the supermarket and at home. No more hassle of what to do with all those plastic bags all over the kitchen surfaces once you’ve unpacked and no more losing your shopping in the car boot.

This is a demo of how they work:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZKy5f6Utd4

Our vision for MyBuddy-Box is is for them to be offered by the supermarkets as a customer service style product, which in turn will change customer behaviour away from using plastic bags.

The lovely people at MyBuddy-Box have kindly created a P&P code for A July Dreamer readers, just enter MALANGA at check-out and get free shipping for every order. MyBuddy-box is also launching a new website I would love it if you could give them some love.

This looks like a really cool idea, especially for places that don’t offer bags. Here you have to bring your own bags, or pay for bags at a store, or just don’t use them. So I always bring my own bags everywhere.

That looks very useful! I wouldn’t mind having one. In my city we have to bring our own bags or pay extra as the plastic shopping bags are banned. This looks great.

That is a super idea, it would be great for holding bottles that always seem to break carrier bags.
