Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Prescription glasses: the office edit

The office space over the years has definitely been thought of as a dull and boring place. The same notion has been applied to the way that people dress there. But all that has changed in this day and age, and this can be said for the atmosphere in an office as well as the outfit choices that are available.

The likes of H&M, Topshop, River Island and Next all have designated trends that cater for office wear that’s a little more in tune with the style and sophistication of high street trends. I for one sometimes shop those trends for general clothing. The smart casual look has definitely been brought back, both in and out of the office!

I always think that selecting the right glasses to match your outfit can be the ultimate way to finish off a look. So below I thought I would look at three really cool office styles and I have matched them to glasses and contacts all by Tesco Opticians.

The girly look

The first look is for all you girly girls out there. Fitted cashmere jumpers and A-line midi skirts is what it’s all about here. Anya are the glasses I have selected to match with this outfit, and I think the deep red tint to the frames with the subtle white detailing are perfect with this look. The dainty frames really complement the feminine feel of this while the red adds some depth and colour this outfit is begging for.

The sporty look

Fear not, if you’re thinking the girly look really isn’t for you, up next I have chosen the sporty look. You may be wondering how this smart/casual outfit is classed as sporty. Well the tapered almost tailored style jogger trousers are what achieve this, paired with a slightly oversized grey t-shirt that completely steers away from the fitted top and floaty skirt of the girly trend. Carly are the frames I’ve chosen, and I’ve gone with a larger wayfarer style that are classically sporty. The blue and black star detailing is subtle enough not to overpower the outfit, while still adding a cute detail to finish off the look.

The day to night look

So lastly is the day to night outfit, and what I love about this is that it’s not overly dressy for the office, but it’s the perfect level of smart to go straight from the office for food and drinks in the city. Cali are the frames I have paired with this look, and I have chosen the leopard print to complement that amazing bag.

Why not swap them for contact lenses?

So at the end of a hectic 8 hour day, it’s now Friday and you and the office are off out for some drinks. If you are sick of having your glasses on, and feel you want a change for the evening, why not swap them for some Tesco Opticians contact lenses? I wouldn’t blame you! They can be less hassle and a lot comfier for some people to wear.

For lots of other styles, and to explore Tesco Opticians full range of contact lenses that include standard and coloured lenses, then head to their site to take a look.
