Cosmo Restaurants is a buffet chain of family-friendly restaurants located across the United Kingdom. The first restaurant was opened in 2003 in Eastbourne and has since offered 18 buffet-style restaurants. We were recently invited to sample the critically acclaimed Michelin-menu filled with 100s of dishes from across the globe in their Oxford branch.
As an Oxfordian Blogger, it is my solemn duty to educate fellow residents and tourist alike to our eatery scene. When people ask me the best places to eat in Oxford, I am quick to offer recommendations of our Favourite Restaurants in Oxford. I am pleased to announce that, Cosmo Restaurants can now be added to this list of favourite Oxford restaurants.

Cosmo Restaurants: Authentic World Kitchen
Cosmo Restaurants considers itself to be an authentic world kitchen that has something for all foodies whether couples, families or groups. The restaurants are inspired by the best 5* hotels around the world and aim to bring the freshest food. At Cosmo, you can expect a buzzing atmosphere, never-ending array of delicious fresh foods and a selection of dreamy desserts.
Our visit to Cosmo Oxford was a delightful one and we turned it into a sisters date night, something we love to do. The Oxford branch is located on Magdalen street next to Sainsbury and a short walk from Ashmolean Museum. To access the restaurant, there is an escalator {& a lift} which is ideal as there is a bus stop right outside the restaurant walls.
We had booked to visit Cosmo Oxford at 7pm, dinner is served between 5pm until 11pm Fri-Sat,10.30pm Mon-Thurs and 10pm Sun & bank holidays. Prices start from £16.50 and for infants, its £2 for dinner and kids who are 150cm tall are half price. When we arrived the restaurant was very busy but thankfully we had a very attentive waitress who tended to our needs.
Thoughts on Cosmo Authentic World Kitchen
Over the last few years, I have been to a number of buffet-style restaurants and most lack in quality of foods. At Cosmo, I was very pleased with not only the service but the various foods we sampled. I will say that the spaghetti bolognese was slightly dry because it was constantly on the heat so spaghetti became tougher.
When we had been shown to our table, our waitress explained how it works since we’d never been before. As is the norm for us, we surveyed the foods on offer before heading over to sample various foods. One thing that stood out for us was the cascading Swiss milk chocolate, homemade cakes and yummy profiteroles.
Overall the food was very yummy, I would give it a rating of 4/5, its not a 5* because of the spaghetti. For the dessert I would say 6/5, it was absolutely delicious and can’t recommend it enough. There were so many options to choose from but I was taken in by the cascading swiss milk chocolate and homemade ice cream. For the drinks menu, I would give 4/5 because I felt it was slightly limited but had all the right cocktails.
The ambience was gorgeous, the entire place was energetic full of families and couples and the drinks were flowing. We were impressed by the decor of Cosmo Oxford, the lavatories impressively clean and the entire place was lively. A few of our friends have been to other branches and loved them plus spoke highly of the chocolate fountain.
If you haven’t yet been to any Cosmo Restaurants then you are missing out and with prices starting from £16.50. for all you can eat, is a bargain. Please bear in mind drinks are not included in the aforementioned price and note prices start from £2.
We had such an amazing time at Cosmo Oxford, a fan favourite among Oxford’s eateries and a must visit.

We love Cosmo’s – they always have lovely food on offer at our local one. The only downside for me is that I don’t eat nearly enough to warrant the price 🙁

Cosmo is a great place for pleasing everyone. I’m not a huge fan of buffet style restaurants though – purely because you are never all eating together at the same time!
Miranda says
That is the con of buffet-style restaurants but the pros are that each eats what they like.

I’d never heard of Cosmo before. The price sounds like good value for money, and 6/5 for desserts would definitely convince me!

That’s a pretty good price for a decent buffet. I do love a buffet but I tend to just eat more than normal x
