{MY} Back To School Must Haves {Link-up plus Giveaway}

Back to school

Can I just say back to school when I was in school and back to school now are so so very different. I mean there is so much people need to have now that they can not absolutely go without. I maybe still in my 20’s but I would like to think back then my parents were more relaxed about back to school than most parents are now or if they were stressed about it they kept it quite big time.

I remember back then all I needed was NEW SHOES ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ , (every damn term..poor mummy) BOOKs, PENCILS, RUBBER, RULER (30cm ๐Ÿ™‚ ) MATHS SET and BAG. These days you need an army and the hospital before the kids are ready for school, anyway now that the walk down memory lane is over I wanted to share some of the school must have items I loved to have when I was in school and at university.

Planner/Diary ย ~ Need I say more, when I was at university I realised the importance of having a planner to keep up with my busy schedule and life. From all my university classes to my two part-times jobs, my BF and social events it was a lot but I found having a cute planner really helped me. Currently I am using this floral planner notebook I bought from poundland and absolutely love it.

Mathematics set ~ I do not know why but for the longest time I loved having mathematics set and even more so I think I started to love maths because of it. Nowadays with computers and what nots no one even bothers with a maths set but I wish some parents and kids took interest in this old craft (as I call it) lol ๐Ÿ™‚

Shoes ~ When I was in grade school I seemed to grow feet every single academic year, I went from size 5 to size 7 in like 2 minutes, It was crazy and must have been frustration for my parents and to make matters worse I was not a kid who kept shoes well maintained. By the time the new school year started I had run the heel of my school shoes to the ground. I suggest to parents buying school shoes go for the stronger ones than the pretty ones, if there is one with both pay whatever as it will be worth it in the long run.

Lunch box ~ What was your favourite lunch box? well mine was whatever contained food my mother had sweat blood and tears for ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ . I was not picky like my little school who wouldn’t take any lunch box except Duck tales inspired lunch box. Granted I did at one point want a sectioned type of lunch box like my plate at home.

Stationery ~ Obviously no school must have list is complete without stationery and these days there is anything and everything you can imagine in the stationary world. I found myself to be an addict of school stationary in my final year of university. I was crazily obsessed so much that I still have plenty still stored in my apartment and my parents house gathering dust.

Headphones ~ Now hear me out here, I can not imagine my life these days without headphones, when I was at university I found headphones to be a great tool for me. When I was doing my daily revision or writing my assignment or preparing for an exam I listened to classical music whether in my own room or in the library or on the train/bus from my part-time jobs for me it was a life saver. The only thing I didn’t like about my then headphones was how they tangled, how they never quite fit into my ears properly and in loud areas how they did not really block out the outside noise. I was very happy to be sent high-definition earphones from Future Sound Lab, I may not been in school currently but I still find my headphones pretty useful. At work when I just want to zone out and concentrate on my work I wear them and also if I just don’t want to be part of office gossip they are a great tool. These headphones are best in their price range, they don’t tangle and have the best base tone ever like hallelujah kind of base :). If you’re interested in checking them out you can grab a pair from Amazon.

    Back to school shopping is fun when you’re doing the supplies too. I don’t know I always thought it was fun, and shopping for the girls was kind of fun too. The boys well… they just didn’t like shopping what more can I say! LOL

    That’s a pretty good list! I can’t imagine getting through back to school shopping without getting the kids earphones. They have tablets that they use for school and play, so keeping their sounds in their head and out of the back seat while I am driving is a good sanity saver for all of us!

I DO remember taking things like tissue, crayons, etc but nothing like today with all the tech. I will say I do love your list though. Those earbuds are awesome!

    Yes back to school has certainly changed in the past 20-30 years. My daughter just purchased items to “decorate” her locker?? And they have all of these planners and specials pens and pencils? But I don’t mind it, since I have a stationary addiction.

  12. August 18, 2015 / 1:55 pm

    I don’t remember what I used to have to have way back then–pencils, pens and a case to put them in which got stored in my locker since we didn’t have backpacks we carried out books in our arms walking back and forth to school. I did need a very good calculator when I hit college–oh and tracing paper-lots of tracing paper!!
