In the September Passive Income Report that I would be sharing an end of year Passive Income Report. It’s that time again to share with my fellow blogger warriors that it is possible to make money blogging. Is it easy, well that’s open for interpretation because if you value hard work then yes. Otherwise it can quickly become tiresome and many and I mean many quit pretty quickly. Take a step back, do your research and understand your audience and your reason for your approach. It took me a good two years before I started seeing pennies come my way and I mean pennies.
Fast forward 4 years later entering the 5th year and I am definitely making more than pennies. I am making something that I use to pay an expected bills, for emergencies and funding my travels across Europe. Like many bloggers, I started out to just have a ranting corner on the blogosphere. Years later, I am grateful to have taken the plunge and never gave up on why I started.
2017 has been a good year all round for us here at A July Dreamer HQ and we’ve been blessed. You can check out later collaborations we’ve had in December 2017 dedication post. I am definitely ready for 2018 and have put some measures in place to start me off. Investing in the blog itself hasn’t been highest on my list to be quite honest but that’s changing. And I am hoping by mid next year, I would have reached my blogging goals.
End of Year Passive Income Report
I don’t know about you but I can be quite nosy when it comes to passive income reports, blog earnings etc. Whatever you call them I like seeing how others are doing and though this is not for everyone I like it. Seeing how other bloggers are doing it gives me and many I am sure hope. Yes the blogging world is getting saturated but we all know only the dedicated stay. And we all have different reasons for blogging, whether it is to make money or just sharing. Whatever your reason, make sure you stick to that, it what sets up apart from everyone else.
Obviously you didn’t come here to listen to me lecture you but see how I did in the ending quarter. Before we get to that I thought I just remind new readers why I share blog earnings. Blogging for me is part-time so I personally feel this is one payslip I would share. My actual payslip from my day to day corporate job is not something I share outside my closet friends and family.
The reasons I share the Passive Income on the blog are simple;
- It helps me keep track of my earnings for tax purposes, others do it differently, this is how I do mine. Not all my clients pay me the same way and I don’t have time to troll my emails, PayPal and the blog helps.
- Motivation not only to myself to keep up my work but other bloggers too. I have mentioned many times that affiliate marketing has not worked for me at all. All my blog earnings are via sponsored posts which come in many forms.
- Humbles me to know that something that started as a hobby is now a small business.
Review of 2017 Passive Income Earnings
I had mentioned 2017 I would breakdown the earnings into 6-monthly but I got busy and didn’t. But I was able to calculate I much I made the first part of the year and will add up the second part.
- January – June 2017 – £2,393.68
- July – December 2017 – £4, 536.26 {July – September – £2,158.81 + October – December – £2, 377.45}
The second part of the year has been more successful than the first, which I am truly pleased about. I am truly grateful to each and every single sponsor and/or collaborator I have had the chance to work with.

One of my goals this year is to Somehow make more money on my blog. It is about to hit 2 years and I have barely made anything. It is great to know that you can make money through blogging as I love it and want to carry on.
