Vue Cinema Oxford is located at the Ozone leisure park in the outskirts of the city and is easily reachable via public transport. The entertainment company offers state of the art multi complex cinema and is one of the leading cinemas in the UK. Vue Cinema Oxford is more than just a cinema but home to incredible big events, operas, music performances and more.
As a cinema lover and goer, I was excited to be invited to visit one of our favourite cinemas in Oxford. Vue Cinema Oxford is a place I have great memories of having visited many times with friends and family. I was excited to return again to our favourite cinema to watch Pokémon Detective Pikachu, a movie that we highly recommend on your next visit to Vue.

Vue Cinema Oxford – The Review
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved going to the cinema, the experience is incomparable. Over the last decades, cinemas have seen a decline in membership and film watchers. This is mostly in part due to the technological advances in movie and music streaming services.
As much as I love streaming movies at home, there is nothing like a cinematic experience. From the best seats in town to the impressive sound system and the best picture quality. I love going to cinemas because I can be both alone enjoying alone time and in the company of other cinema lovers.

Our movie {Pokémon Detective Pikachu} was scheduled to start at 6.55 pm and we arrived at 6.30 pm. The retail park has parking but it can easily get filled due to the popularity with families. We were able to quickly find a parking space located in front of the Vue cinema.
At the Vue, you have an option to either buy your tickets from the counter of the self-service machine. For those who book in advance, you can also collect from the self-service machine. We picked up ours without any issues and spent time relaxing in the seating area available.

For those who enjoy having a snack during the movie, there is a great selection of refreshments available. I was surprised to learn I can purchase max 2 cups of my favourite cold alcoholic brew. This is not something I was aware of at other Vue Cinemas include the Oxford branch.
The Vue Cinema Oxford currently has 9 screens with over 1300 seats in total and are all fitted with Digital Dolby 6.1 Surround Sound. All the screens are furnished with stepped seating, Sony 4k picture quality and digital 3D fitted in screen 9.
Our movie was being screened in screen 9, we found the screen rooms were pretty big in size and the seats were very comfortable. The quality impressed us so much that we wandered the quality of the VIP seating. Our standard seats were not only comfortable but spacious too.
Pokémon Detective Pikachu
Without spoiling the movies for anyone who has not yet seen the movie, I will quickly share some highlights. The start of the movie is very intriguing, everything that happens is not as it seems and who doesn’t like a British bad guy. Ryan Renolds stars in the movie that means lots of laughs are included, it was brilliantly done.

For those who’ve watched Deadpool 2, just know that the funny Indian guy is in the movie too. Get yourself ready for the best laughs of your life, there are some twists which definitely had me gasping. The movie is rated PG but I don’t think there is anything too scary for the kids but it depends on the kid.
The Overall Experience At Vue Oxford
As an Oxfordian, I am often biased about the places that I visit but my bias is based on my personal experiences. The Vue Cinema Oxford was the best out-of-home entertainment and big screen experiences, I can testify to this. Though I have a list of preferred Oxford Eateries, the Ozone leisure centre has a few.

I love that Vue has a lovely selection of refreshments from the traditional popcorns to nachos and hot dogs. We were impressed by the audio and picture quality as well as the customer service that we received. There are areas of improvements but nothing that hinders the cinema experience.
Going to the cinema is not a thing of the past but an experience that we shouldn’t deny our kids. Visiting the cinema is a great way to spend time as a family whilst managing to catch the latest blockbuster movies.
*Disclosure – I was a guest of Vue Cinema, all opinions shared are based on our own experience.
