For as long as I can remember, sleep has more often than not eluded me, thanks to my best friend insomnia. But recently, in part, thanks to The Restored, bedtime routine has been updated to increase a more relaxed tomorrow. I have tried several bedtime routines that have worked for a minute but then insomnia returns. I am hopeful that my collaboration with and on The Restored bedtime routine will give better results.
The Restored is a new and exciting lifestyle brand launching in August 2019 that was born out of a simple philosophy of, āeverybody deserves to feel healthyā. Its foundations are rooted in four foundations of health; sleep, nutrition, movement and mindset. In order to be healthier you need to ensure you have the right baseline, basically eat well, sleep well, exercise and a good mindset.

I personally know the reason I am not losing weight because my sleep and nutrition are lacking in more ways than one. The Restored bedtime routine as well as the advice from The Restored, I am hopeful I can continue to enjoy a good night sleep for a better morning. What I am loving about the brand is that they onlyĀ develop products that will people feel noticeably better.
Updated Bedtime Routine for a better morning
What is your go to bedtime routine which you follow and guarantees a good morning feeling rested? I have several that I often try but they are all flawed because they are missing a few essentials throughout the day. In this post, I have curated an updated bedtime routine that has been essential in a more relaxed morning.
Working in the corporate world and blogging part-time, I am busy from the moment I wake up until I sleep. I am often tired throughout the day because I lack sleep, have bad nutrition and rarely exercise. In the last few weeks, I have made some changes in my life including the bedtime routine.

- From
6pm onwards, I make a point of concluding all my work and shut off my computer. Then IĀ make acuppa as one of the first steps to relax beforebed time . - Then I take myĀ vitamins and other medicationsĀ a few hours before bed
- A couple of hours before bed, IĀ take out clothesĀ for the next day
- Then itās time for theĀ night skincare routineĀ which changes seasonally.
- An hour before bed IĀ showerĀ and turn on my essential oilās diffuser
- I thenĀ read a bookĀ for an hour beforeĀ dimming the lightsĀ in time for bed.
- Then finally 15 minutes before bed, I do a fewĀ yoga moves and I am ready for bed
I have noticed that if I start to wind down from 6pm onwards, I feel more relaxed when I go to bed and when I wake up. These changes have not been easy but I now have a better mindset and want to improve my overall health in hopes of feeling better about myself.

The Restored Foundations of Health
Like more people, I donāt have a defined bedtime routine outside of a simple skincare routine which I religiously follow. The last few weeks, I have noticed that I am struggling to get a better night sleep more and more each night. This is why I was more than happy to undertake an online evaluation created by therestored.com to give me an idea of areas in my life I can improve on.
After a short survey, it was revealed that I need to look at my nutrition, reading through the advice, I agreed with the points shared. One of the points that resonated with me is that āgood nutrition is key to good mental and physical healthā. Everyone who knows me knows my nutrition is lacking in many ways and I want to change that.

As a result of the evaluation, I was set a āfeel better challengeā which is the whole essence of The Restored philosophy. In order to build a better foundation, I am adviced to forget fad diets and instead adopt new habits. These habits include;
- Step 1 ā hydration, drink 2 litres daily
- Step 2 ā Vegetables, 5 portions a day, smoothies are a good way to start
On top of these new habits, I am encouraged to take multivitamins, which is something I do already and happy to continue. If youāre looking to improve your overall health, then I suggest you give The Restored a try.

So sorry to hear that you suffer from insomnia but it sounds like your routine is helping you. My mummy wishes she could wind down but after putting me to bed, having dinner, catching up with blogging and having some downtime the evening always runs away from her!

These are great tips. I am working on turning the phone or at least stop scrolling 1 hour before bed and in the morning this is sacred, no social media until I have breakfast, read and written my pages. The morning hours are the most creative and being disciplined with this has been life changing.
