Get ready with this Christmas Festive Checklist

With Christmas only a few short weeks away, we’ve put together a Christmas festive checklist to prepare you for the festive season. Every single year I always lament on the fact that I did not prepare early enough, this year will be different. I will be getting ready for Christmas with this festive checklist that we’ve compiled and hope it will be useful to you too.

To prevent any panicking, get organised early and write a list of everything you need to do the month before Christmas. Once you have a list in front of you and begin to tick everything off, your tasks will become a lot more manageable. By giving yourself enough time to complete everything, you’ll reduce the chances of stress and debt, too. 

Christmas with this festive checklist

Before we know it, it will be December and we will all go into panic mode: I should have completed my Christmas shopping earlier! Why didn’t I send my gifts and cards a few weeks ago? What food do I still need to pick up to feed the whole family? In hopes of saving your sanity this Christmas, get ready with our Christmas festive checklist and here is how your checklist should your list look.

Week 1

• Decorate!

This could arguably be one of the most enjoyable tasks on your list. It’s time to get up in the loft and get those decorations down! As and when you have time throughout the week, start to get your home looking festive – and make sure your family members get involved, too.

• Write your Christmas cards

If you have lots of Christmas cards to write, get this task out the way and get them done! Don’t forget to post them nice and early, too.  

Week 2

• Plan your menu

Before going out to the shops to pick up all the food for Christmas dinner, you need to consider how many people you are catering for, and whether there are any dietary requirements that you need to take into account. Also, decide whether you want to buy your meat from the supermarket or butchers and find out whether you need to order it early.

• Get your presents sent out to family and friends in good time

If you need to post your Christmas gifts to friends and family, ensure that you send them with a reliable company such as Parcel2Go. You want to make sure that your gifts arrive on time!

Week 3

• Finish your shopping

Now that you know how many people are coming over, you can finish your shopping accordingly. Don’t forget the nibbles – they’ll be perfect for when you’ve finished playing all your Christmas games!

• Wrap your presents

It’s time to wrap the presentsfor the people that don’t live far away. Stick one of your favourite Christmas films on and get wrapping! 

Week 4

• Prepare your home for your guests

It’s almost time to welcome your guests, so make sure your house is ready for them! Put on some Christmas music, get the vacuum cleaner and duster out and tidy away any clutter. Get out your favourite Christmas tablecloths and placemats and put them aside until the day.

By following this handy list, you’ll feel more prepared for December 25^th. Remember to ask for an extra pair of hands around the house if you need some help, too!
