With only a few days into the year, I thought now is the perfect time to share our 2020 travel and lifestyle goals. I should probably have started with Happy New Year and asked whether you’ve set any New Year Resolutions. But those who know me know I am anti-resolutions because they never work especially when they are unrealistic or dramatic lifestyle changes. Instead, I perfect to set realistic and smart monthly goals that I follow-up on every month and monitor my progress and alter when necessary.
2020 has been dabbed as the year of the achiever and whilst that has a nice ring to it, I think, it is only as good as the person setting the goals. Our 2020 travel and lifestyle goals are focused on areas in our lives we want to improve and visiting places we’ve never ventured to. For many of us, it is much easier to accomplish travel goals that it is to accomplish lifestyle goals. This is why I am being more intentional on lifestyle goals I set and have gone as far as having an accountability partner to keep me in check.

2020 Travel and Lifestyle Goals
When setting goals, it is important to sit down and think about what you want to achieve before writing anything down. It is even more important to consider what is in the realm of possibility within your current circumstances and what isn’t. Most people fail with their resolutions because they set goals beyond their realm of possibility. So, what do I mean by the realm of possibility, is it something you can predict?
By this I mean, what is achievable considering your current circumstances, for example, you want to travel to 20 countries in 2020, as of today, looking at your bank account, is that something that is possible? Or maybe looking at your bank account in the next six months provided nothing changes, can you still travel to those 20 countries? Your answer to these will determine whether 20 countries in 2020 is a doable goal.
Before setting any goals of any sort, make sure it is something that (1) you truly want to do and achieve and (2) it is something financially, mentally or even emotionally you can take on and won’t impact your current lifestyle in such a way that it will be detrimental. With that being said, our 2020 travel and lifestyle goals consist of 10 new places we want to explore 10 new things we want to add to our current for our betterment.

Travel Goals
As a travel addict, there is nothing I love more than exploring new lands and revisiting some of our favorites. This year though, I want to focus my time more on exploring places that I have not yet visited but had always wanted to. Lifestyle Goals
As a lifestyle blogger, there is nothing I love more than setting goals for the betterment of my lifestyle. In the past, I have tried to develop better habits for a healthier me, reduced sugar intake and educated myself on which sugar is better and so many other things and this year is no different. Working on the foundation I built last year with The Restore program, I will continue to make small changes to my lifestyle but also adding in big challenges that push me beyond my comfort zone.
- Read 10 books in any genre – last year I read 4 and still not finished the fourth book, this year I need to do better.
- Explore more of the UK – I wanted to do more of this last year but I failed as I travel abroad more and neglected my own backyard.
- Drink more water – I struggle big time with this but because of the foundation I laid in 2019, I can improve on that in 2020.
- Change one thing in my diet – last year, I changed one thing – I gave up drinking fizzy drinks and never felt better. This year, I want to reduce my consumption of processed sugar considerably.
- Participate in a 30-day exercise challenge – I have started this year well and already doing a 30-day exercise challenge.
- Join Touch Rugby – this will be good cardio as its something I rarely do in the gym.
- Complete Tough Mudder – this will be my first outdoor challenge and I am both excited and terrified in equal measure.
- Invest more in the blog – this year I want to spend more time on the blog, I want to invest in Pinterest to drive traffic to the blog.
- Spend time with friends and family – at the end of 2019, I spent a bit more time with friends and family and want to continue that in 2020.
- Be more intentional – this is something I want to work on more than anything as it is a foundation for many of these goals.

As a goal-setter by nature, there are so many tips that I can share with you to help you set goals and achieve those goals. The biggest tip I want to share is to always set goals for you, even as a couple, take time to set your own personal goals. Don’t compare your goals to others or feel you should set similar goals, those are not your goals. Be realistic and authentic when setting goals and have some conviction and personal belief.
Ten new destinations and 10 lifestyle goals make up our 2020 travel and lifestyle goals that we hope to accomplish before December 31, 2020. For the first time in many years, I have set goals that I have every intention of accomplishing. This is not to set I did not wish to complete previous years’ goals but rather that I have already made headways to accomplishing these goals.

Your travel list is amazing! Any chance you can squeeze me in your suitcase. My husband has aspergers and my son is Autistic so travelling anywhere is super tricky. I love looking at other people’s travels though x

I agree, achieving travel goals is easy. All you have to do is book a ticket and then you have no choice but to do. Lifestyle goals are more difficult as you have to consistently push yourself

Considering how much you travel I’m surprised you don’t read more as I find it one of the best things to do at airports or on flights. Your year in travel looks really impressive. I have 3 trips books and I don’t think I’ll be booking any more now x

You have some really good goals, and the important thing is that they sound achievable, for us staying closer to home is more attainable, although the children are desperate to return to Disneyland Paris, so that may be as far as we venture.
