Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Beauty} Recent Additions

I have mentioned several times on this blog how rare it is for me to buy beauty products. I have been so blessed that many companies send me products to try out and share my reviews with you all. Saying that I still like to pick up a few items now and again that become essentials at that particular time and this time was no different. I found myself in another country with the worst nails ever, like they were dirty and my nail polish was coming off in all the wrong places at the wrong time. MOH made a comment and I knew I had to go do something about it. I also found myself in another predicament, I had a larger than 100ml bottle of deodorant and you can’t carry that in carry on luggage so I had to leave it at home and had to buy new one when I reached my destination. Let us just assume I had a very troublesome traveling ordeal in the beauty department. Usually I am more organised than this but I had thrown myself into a traveling mayhem and no time to do anything about it except for buying new things at destination. I did have some luck though, my one and only sister in law managed to gift me some Boots No7 eye shadow in sparkly purple and shine & tint glossy gel for my lips.

Knowing my eyes and lips were sorted, I went to Maxima (supermarket in Lithuania) and grabbed some Garnier mineral invisible roll on deodorant bottle which was under 100ml, I had never used Garnier roll on’s before and was not really sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised and happy to find the one had chosen smelled absolutely heavenly and lasts for over 24 hours. For my nails I did not know what my MIL had in her cupboard so decided best to buy my own stuff and picked up a lovely Maybelline nail polish in red, nail polish remover and some cotton pads to help remove the old nail polish. It is amazing what a new coat of paint on your nails can change the feel and outlook of things. I could not stop looking at my newly painted nails, I love red big time and since it was just in time for Christmas I knew it would be a big hit with MOH and it was (unfortunately he still didn’t propose lol).

What are some of your recent beauty item purchases?

What’s your nail care routine like?

I must say my nail care routine is pretty bad, I let them grow and then when they get to long to type I cut them with a pair of nail scissors. I don’t file or paint or condition. Although I do take supplements which help my nails as part of my pregnancy so the extra B vitamins help them grow strong. Its a sad state of affairs! Although I do normally treat myself to a manicure and pedicure before going on holiday, but thats it! xx

I hadn’t seen that particular deodorant before, I must keep an eye out for it as it looks like it would be fairly gentle. My nails have been terrible for a while, I have a candlemaking business and was so busy making before Christmas that my hands were very neglected ( I need to wash my hands a lot when dealing with the fragrances). One of my plans for January is to get my hands and nails back to good condition!

I can only imagine what it’s like, my mum did a similar busy and her nails did go bad but then she made time for them and treated them. Thanks for stopping by and hope you get to treat your hands and nails soon

I am a crazy lady for a good nail polish. I have this terrible habit of biting my nails when they aren’t done or if the polish starts to chip. That red is gorgeous!

I bite my nails off. Constantly. So nail care isn’t really a thing, but when I do dig out my nail polish, it’s black 😛 I haven’t worn it in years, but you’ve gotten me thinking. Maybe I should start again which will probably result in me growing out my nails and lead to some sort of half assed nail care xD
