Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

For my almost wordless wednesday I wanted to share a bit about the blogger event I attended recently.

A few days ago I attended a blogger event hosted at the Millennium Hotel in Knightsbridge London organised by Joe’s blog network. I had known about this since November last year and been eagerly waiting to go. When I arrived I met you with a lovely blogger Bei of Health conscious Lifestyle  we entered the hotel together (was cold outside and we needed the powder room) where we met up with James of Joes blogs who directed upstairs to where the sparkling drinks were waiting for us at the bar. We were introduced to Cipriano the director of sales at the Millennium Hotel, sadly the chef had taken ill so we were not able to meet him but other chefs and kitchen staff were abouts to cater to our needs. We had a lovely area secluded area for bloggers and the atmosphere was just incredible, the long table for bloggers was set up really nicely and very 5* and everything was in pristine condition. The lighting of the area was just so calm and romantic and was really enticing I had to take a moment and appreciate (or maybe its the two glasses of sparkling I had drunk at the bar) the setting.

When the food was served we were all in awe, I just couldn’t believe how beautiful it looked and y’all know I have bigger eyes than my stomach but this time they were same size and I ate 99% of my food except when the waiter accidentally took my plate assuming I was done because I requested another clean plate – a sister just needed another one which was cute and clean. Though I do not remember the names of all the food I consumed I can assure you, in the next post about this event I will tell you. As with most blogger events we took a good photo after each blogger was handed a goodie bag and the content will be revealed in the next post about this event.

Happy Wednesday y’all.

Just had my first TWO dim sum breakfasts over the last two weeks, one in Brooklyn and one here on Long Island. I loved so many of the dishes (pork buns? love!), and it was great to expose the little one to some food outside of her comfort zone. Looks like a great event, glad you enjoyed!
