Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{GBU} The Happening ~ WEEK TWO

EVERYTHING

Hi and welcome to week two of The Happening, a series which documents my weeks; The Good, the Bad and the Ugly as a well of sorting through this thing called life. Thank you to all the lovely comments in my first ever GBU The Happening post. Last week I read two posts which really resonated with me ‘What being a blogger has taught me‘ by Simply Sinova and ‘When to say no to blogging opportunities‘ by Hello Rigby. I sometimes forget that as a blogger I should say NO to some propositions because well as Simply Sinova puts it; as a blogger you’re everything from writer, photographer, designer to editor‘ and this takes time so only worthy propositions should be given the time. Hello Rigby brings it home by saying ‘if you can’t find anything about the company asking you to do something for them on your blog or worse when they can not even spell your name you know they are not worth your time because they did not bother to learn who you’re and what your blog is about. Armed with this information I set out on a mission to learn when to say No and I think I need some more work.

……on to today’s post….

The Good.

I have been given an opportunity to work with an amazing brand that I have always wanted to work with and this opportunity could not have come at a better time. (more on this in the next few weeks)

Tomorrow is easter, which means family will be cooking up a storm. For the last 8 years my easter’s have been infested with only Lithuanian foods and hardly anything else. I am so not complaining except for the Vodka on the menu (YUCK).

At work we have a points system called REACH points which are rewarded by employees to fellow employees when they do a good job or just shown some support or gotten the desired results. I got recognise big time which gave me so many points which I have redeemed for Argos/Homebase vouchers and can use to power furniture for my apartment.

I went for a 5k run on Monday and didn’t stop till I returned home then I felt like I was going to die since I haven’t run in over 2 years now. But it was great feeling the rest of the day but needless to stay I am feeling it till now and not dared to go back until next week.

The Bad

Mother nature, I know its gotta happen but it’s knocking me out so bad I can not function.

Got some awful news from a friend, it was a shock but glad she is ok.

The Ugly

Knock on wood, still nothing ugly has happened this week. Though I did get punked yesterday by BIL since I forgot it was April fool’s day.

So that’s it for the GBU for this week, see you next week.

What has been the Good, the Bad and the Ugly for you this week?

It really does feel good when you get a chance to work with a company that you’ve had your eye on. Congrats on that good thing happening to you!

Oh huge congrats on working with a brand you’ve always wanted to collab with! I know the feeling on how happy that makes you. I still couldn’t get over the fact certain brands said YES to working with me in the past when reaching out to them. Excited to hear all about it!

Thanks Nancy, it’s always such a great feeling when the brands say yes and you were actually thinking they wouldnt.

The good has been spending some extended time with my family. The bad was that the weather didn’t cooperate as much as we wanted it too. As for the ugly, I can’t say we’ve had anything that qualifies as ugly this week, thankfully!

The weather has been bad since last year here so for me I can not even include it lol but spending time with family is always a good for me too

I like the idea of going through The Good, The Bad and The Ugly just so I can shake it all off from the week. So 1) I cannot believe you did a 5k on a Monday when you haven’t ran in forever. I would have totally died!

Sounds like you have a ton on your plate. I love the idea of a “the good, the bad, the ugly” roundup since it causes you to pause and reflect on your week. And I feel like it would help point out to you that there is mostly good in your days, which just makes your perspective that much better and more realistic.

Wow, you ran a marathon all the way home. You should have posted pic. I can imagine I would have been exhausted. I agree with you on not taking on every opportunity. You have to choose the right ones. If you say yes to everything you will get overwhelmed. Can’t wait to read more 🙂

I wouldn’t call it a marathon but I was proud to have run the much but now scared to even attempt again on the account of how i felt after

I love your use of the Good/Bad/Ugly to describe your week. I actually used the same reference when I did the 3-Day Refresh Cleanse. So for this week my good-I painted Easter eggs, went to the gym a few times and completed a blog job. Nothing bad or ugly this week!

That is wonderful that you were recognized for your hard work by fellow employees, it is always validating when co workers see what you do.
Have a Happy Easter! Your next post should be about Lithuanian Easter Food (what is that?? Im curious!)
