Before being sent these products I had never used Hawaiian Tropic products, I was selected as part of BzzAgent bloggers to trial the new Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration. To be honest I never used to concern myself with sunscreen when I was in the sun I was also told you’re black you do not need it and for years I went with it. But over the last few years I have realised I have been misinformed I actually do need sun protection and should always be weary just like the next person.
The Hawaiian Tropic products have a very lovely scent, I received the Silk hydration protective and the Silk hydration after sun lotions. I am yet to use the after sun but I have been using the protective lotion daily. I can not praise it enough, I love the texture and the feel of it on my skin. For coloured girls who know the pain of having a moisturizer that doesn’t have baby oil or vaseline in it, this product definitely takes care of it. I have not had to worry about my skin breaking out in the cold, the harsh elements have not done anything to my skin since I started using the Silk hydration protective sun lotion.

We live near a lake, so we use sunscreen all. the. time. My daughter’s hair is so thick, so I try to put it in braids or twists when we swim, and even use sunscreen on her parts!

omg! yes, everyone needs sun protection! 🙂 in my 20s i didn’t even think twice about skincare and sunscreen.. but now i definitely try my best to wear it everyday even if i got out for 10 minutes.

I’ve never used their after-sun products before (not sure what it is really for. Is it a moisturizer?) But my husband and I ONLY use Hawaiian Tropic on our skin! We really love it.

Sunscreen is so critical. I’m fair and have to use it… but I hate how thick some of it is. Maybe this will be something that I’ll like since it’s lightweight. And that smell…. take me away!!

I’ve been using Hawaiian Tropic for years. Every time I open a bottle and smell that heavenly scent, I’m transported to an island . . . in my mind. I’m going to make sure I buy the after sun, too. Silk hydration sounds lovely!
