Looking back at each decade, I feel both β€˜older’ and β€˜younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🀣🀣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🀨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

January 2020 Collaborations – Monthly Roundup

The January 2020 collaborations is a monthly roundup post highlighting the collaborations that we had over the last four weeks. Over the last six years, I have had the opportunity to work with some of the most amazing brands in the country. Every month, I am always in awe of the wonderful collaborations that come my way and always excited to share them on the blog. This month is no different, I am excited to share the amazing brands on our January 2020 collaborations list.

January is often an exhausting month for most of us, our regular readers will have noticed a reduction in the number of posts we shared. This is largely to do with my lack of motivation that it being January, the longest month(s) of the year. Even with these issues, I still managed to share a few collaborations and as part of the January 2020 collaborations, I will share mini-reviews of products I recently received from some amazing brands.

January 2020 Collaborations

Disclosure: This post contains items that were gifted in exchange for inclusion in any post, the brands mentioned in this post are those we’ve worked with, trust and love.Β If you want to collaborate with us then please visit ourΒ Work with MeΒ page for more detailsΒ on the types of collaborations we offer.

January 2020 Collaborations – Monthly Roundup

I am sure like many people, everyone is happy that January 2020 is finally coming to an end, it has been the longest year ever. For some an unknown reason, it felt like the days were moving slower than usual except for me during the few days in Malta and Essaouira the days seemed to be speeding off. But I am glad the longest month has finally come to an end so I can share the amazing brands that I worked with.

Sleep Master’s sleep mask

As someone who travels a lot, there is nothing I love more than using handy products that make my travels much more bearable. During my recent visits to Malta and Essaouira, I had an opportunity to test out Sleep Master’s sleep mask, a sleep mask unlike any other. Whenever I travel for longer than 2 hours, I make it my business to pack a sleep mask. But this is the first time I have used a mask that (1) has built-in sound muffling, (2) is one size fits all and (3) has complete light elimination.

For many years, I have used countless masks that all fail in one aspect, the light elimination is often poor and light does sip through. If there is one thing I dislike when I am trying to fall asleep during the day is not having adequate eye cover. I am glad to have tried the Sleep Master’s sleep mask and even more happy that it has a built-in sound muffling effect. During my trips to Malta and Morocco, I was able to enjoy a good night’s sleep without disturbance.

Lighthouse Clothing

Lighthouse clothing is not a brand I was familiar with prior to the company reaching to me to review one of their coats. As winter was fast approaching I knew I would pick a winter coat that covered me whether it was raining or just plain cold. Lighthouse clothing is designed in Northern Ireland, if there was ever a place that knew how to design coats for all winter types it’s them. When the coat arrived I knew immediately that it would become my new-go-to winter coat and it truly has.

I chose the Iona coat in Midnight New which has about 4 pockets in the front plus another inside pocket. The Iona coat is very warm and soft to the touch, it’s windproof and waterproof too which is something I have needed of late with the crazy winter weather. I chose size 14 and it fits perfectly but I think I might need it to be slightly bigger in case I wanted to add more layers but otherwise very unnecessary since the coat is super warm anyway.

January 2020 Collaborations – Sponsors of the month

This month we worked with brands that are new to us but tie in nicely with the blog, as a driver, there is nothing more satisfying than knowing you own your vehicle. But for those who are unable to own one but want the latest in the range then leasing is the best option and Willow Leasing has some amazing deals.

Another collaboration post that we were excited to work on is about different diamond options for engagement rings. What is funny is that even though I love a good diamond, I think I like them more as earrings or necklace than a ring, would be too scared to wear it. But still, it was nice learning about different varieties of diamond rings to fit every budget.

Whilst I am super glad January is over, I am more thankful for the January 2020 collaborations that we enjoyed on this blog. I work hard to maintain this blog, curate useful content whilst introducing products that you never knew you needed. I am excited to see what February has in store for us but before then, thank you January 2020.
