Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Lifestyle: Light up your home

Light your home up this Christmas, after all  Tis the season to be jolly. When I moved into my apartment earlier this year, one of the main things that stood out for me was the lighting in my new home. I am very particular about lighting in my home, especially the bedroom. Boo would tell you how fussy I am on outing lighting in the bedroom, even just little flick of light coming from laptops charging, electrical on standpoint all of that stops me from actually having a good night’s sleep for me it has to be pitch black.  Light your home
For the rest of the house I am not worried about flickering lights but I do want when I am in the room the light is not too bright, does not take forever to reach its brightness peak and can be adjustable. In my apartment I am fortunate that the lighting is not too bad and I can manage, except for the bathroom. Because of how the bathroom/toilet room is shaped it is difficult to appreciate the lighting. The toilet area and the shower area are fine it’s not bright but it’s not too deem either but by the sink where my mirror is there is hardly any lighting coming through.

Scouring the net I came across Lighting Styles bathroom lighting ideas which are absolutely awesome. I particularly fell in love with the illuminated magnified vanity mirror which would solve some of my problems or better yet I could use the over mirror lighting (with a built-in shaver socket for boo) which would be more ideal.

I’m lucky as our apartment has a lot of natural light and we do not need many artificial lights. The illuminated magnified vanity mirror would be a really great addition to our bathroom!

The sun goes down really early in these parts. I don’t wear makeup a lot but when I do it would be nice to have a mirror like that.

A swiveling wall mirror is one of my favorite things when I stay in hotels. I have always wanted one for my house, but wasn’t sure where to find one. This one looks perfect.

What a great little lighted mirror! I’m with you! Proper lighting in your home can really set the mood. And yes in the bedroom, it must be dark. We’ve got room darkening curtains that help a lot.
