If your Nan tends to end up staying at home more than she would like, consider buying her an experience day out. Or, maybe send her to a cooking or craft class. The older you get, the easier it is to become lonely. So, a gift that gets her out and about is an especially good idea.
Better access to transport

show tickets are always a winner in my book, as they don’t clutter and it is often something people like but don’t buy for themselves. We’ve done it a few times for the grandparents

I think the idea of tickets is a lovely one but equally better access to transport must be such a big one for so many grans so lovely that you have included this on the list because it’s not something everyone will think about but it’s so essential to enable them to be independent.

Oh that’s such a lovely post! I always find it tough to buy a present for my nan. She’s at an age when she’s got everything she wants / needs and I tend to always go for flowers or treat her to a nice experience. For her 80th, I took her to the Ritz for afternoon tea and she still talks about it 4 years later!
