Spend a Day in Sutton St. Nicholas Shopping Centre

Are you visiting South London and looking for some inspiration? May we suggest you spend a day in Sutton, a principal city in London? The town of Sutton is the sixth most important shopping area in London, with incredible transport connections to central London. Sutton was originally an ancient Parish that was part of Surrey and in 1965 it became part of London.

In the last couple of years, the town has grown in size and is thought to have the lowest crime rates in Greater London. I recently had an opportunity to spend a day in Sutton specifically at St Nicholas Shopping centre. In this article, I will share how you can spend a day in Sutton, and what you can enjoy.

How to Spend a Day in Sutton St Nicholas Shopping Centre

Sutton is a city I have only ever heard of and hadn’t ventured into until the recent blogger event. I was excited to visit the newly revamped St Nicholas Shopping centre. When the invitation to attend the blogger event, I had to plan how I would spend a day in Sutton. Whilst the town of Sutton has its own charms, the shopping centre has lots to keep you entertained.

From Oxford, Sutton is just under 2 hours drive and via train, it’s about the same duration. One thing that I was totally impressed by it the cost of whole day parking at St. Nicholas Shopping centre. Such prices do not exist in Oxford, £5 to park for the whole day Mon-Sat and £1 for Sunday. This alone was enough to be very hopeful about visiting St Nicholas Shopping Centre.

St. Nicholas Shopping Centre; what’s available

St. Nicholas Shopping Centre offers its visitors various forms of entertainment. For the shoppers, Debenhams, Next, Primark and New Look just to mention a few. If shopping isn’t your thing and would rather much workout then enjoy Sweat Sutton Gym. The gym is located on the ground floor just under Debenhams and collaborates with Debenhams. Use you Debenhams Beauty card to earn some points as you work out.

The kids have not been forgotten, the shopping centre offers a Games Zone which is suitable for older kids. For the younger kids, St Nicholas Shopping Centre will be opening soft play in December 2018. This will be located on the 3rd floor, next to Next and the Management Suite.

When it comes to food I think shopping could do with some improvement. Do not misunderstand, the current food places are amazing and serve incredible foods. But like with anything, more options are needed, not everyone is into Indian, Thai or Caribbean Foods. On the bottom floor, there are cafes which is amazing as there are various options including the Debenhams Cafe. Find more information in our next post on the Eateries of Sutton Shopping Centre.

Before you leave the shopping centre, make sure you pop into the cinema. Empire cinemas have listings of the latest movies currently on show and best comfy seats ever. Tickets for adults cost less than £8 Mon-Thurs and £9 Fri-Sun. 

Conclusion

Overall, I think St. Nicholas Shopping centre makes it worth to spend a day in Sutton. There is something for everyone in the family plus they have the most amazing-looking feeding room ever. And the toilets where very clean and hygienic which are rare with most shopping centres. You can also find free wi-fi and the shopping centre is also accessible for wheelchairs and buggies.

I had such a lovely time exploring the shopping centre and the food saved by the three eateries. The highlight of my visit was visiting the gym and most importantly learning of their 150 weekly classes. When I visit gyms, I prefer classes than working out alone.
