As the travel industry slowly recovers from the last 18+ months, I am excited to share the big summer getaway with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays who are a travel company known for their ‘friendly low fares’ and incredible packages holidays. The quote, once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before has never been more apt than it is right now. I am a frequent traveller, I enjoy the feeling of discovering a new place (to me) and immersing myself in their culture. I am also known for being a repeat travel offender in that every single year I travel to Seoul, South Korea to visit my bestie without fail.
Jet2 is a well-known and well-loved British low cost airline that has been serving the nation since the early 2000s. I am a customer of Jet2 and now that international travel is back on the cards for me, I am excited to share the ‘Big Summer Getaway with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’. The last time I planned a holiday was this time last year for my city break to Venice, Italy and as a frequently traveller, not being able to travel was tough. Whilst the current UK set-up with colour coding system is adding stress to travel planning, Jet2 has taken it upon themselves to help its customers by creating a page all about the new travel requirements.

Disclosure: This post is commissioned by Jet2.com to create awareness for the ‘Big Summer Getaway’, all opinions shared are my own.
The Big Summer Getaway with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays
To Travel is to Live – Hans Christian Andersen, this is one of my most favourite travel quotes and I had not truly appreciated it until travel was restricted. Since I made the decision to start solo travelling back in 2015, I have not looked back and quite frankly, I have taken it for granted. The last 18+ months have taught us to live for the moment, the appreciate the things we had previously taken for granted and for me that is the ability to travel to new destinations at a moment’s notice.
Ever since I began solo travel, I had always planned my major trips months in advance because I want to ensure I plan and budget for the trip accordingly. There is nothing worse than being on holiday, unprepared and broke and even worse, having to borrow money just to travel – this is why I am a big advocate for budgeting. But, as much as I love to plan my trips months in advance, I am a spontaneous person at heart and love picking an affordable city break at a moment’s notice.
My spontaneous side is very appreciative that Jet2.com has created a ‘destinations map‘ which gives you ideas on where you can travel to during the summer and even winter months. For example, I know that I wouldn’t mind ending the summer months in Faro, Portugal because I love the Algarve region. There are so many wonderful recommendations on the website, it is perfect for us travellers who want to travel abroad now on an affordable budget without breaking the bank.
I am a huge fun of city breaks, in fact, I just returned from one yesterday and it was good escaping to another European city and indulging in another culture. Jet2.com provides ideas on what city breaks you can embark on before the end of the summer months and even ideas for future destinations for the colder months. I am so excited to start planning my short trips across the pond again and consider destinations that I may not have considered before thanks to the big summer getaway with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays campaign.
Tips for Travelling Now!!!
- Before you book any destination, check the government website for the latest information on the destination of choice
- Research the cost of covid tests for pre-during-post travel as this will seriously impact your budget
- Check the information your airline is providing for your chosen destination, as mentioned Jet2.com has created an informational page to aid you as you plan your vacation
- Be prepared financially to spend more than budgeted (especially if you get a positive result)
- Stay safe, wash and sanitise your hands and areas you frequently tough.
- Have fun!!

I think it is going to be a new normal for us to check if the country we are aiming to visit is covid-free or at least provides the best covid response. It saddens me how this pandemic affected the tourism worldwide and I wish everything falls back into place and we can travel worry-free again.

We aren’t quite ready to travel too far from home yet, but when we do, we are going to do it big!
