With winter in full swing, are you ready to transition your autumn wardrobe to winter? I am someone who changes their wardrobe the minute the weather changes, it helps to have a winter fashion capsule. Before I make any new purchases, I make a point of reviewing my seasonal capsule and decide if I need to buy or replace items in the wardrobe. This winter, I have had to replace a lot of my knitwear and nightwear but a few essential accessories that I use every season.
This year it feels like winter started way too early than expected, which meant I ended up having to transition your autumn wardrobe to winter earlier than anticipated. But I am glad I started early because this way I was able to budget for the new items that I needed. When it comes to curating a fashion essentials capsule for every season it is best to look at what you like to wear and what you have already before making a purchase.

Are you ready to transition your autumn wardrobe to winter? If so, then this post is for you, we’ve included simple tips on how to create a fashion capsule. Disclosure: This post contains items that were sent for inclusion for product reviews.
Transition Your Autumn Wardrobe to Winter
The last few months have been incredibly cold on this side of the world and it has made me realise I needed to upgrade the winter capsule. When it comes to upgrading your capsule, it can mean two things; repurpose the clothes you have already or buy new ones. It often rare for me to purchase new items and when I do, they are items that I truly need. Whenever you transition your autumn wardrobe to winter items, you have to look at what items you need. The items that I needed this season include,
- Knitwear – sweaters, beanie hats, scarves and hand mittens.
- Tops – polo kneck, long-sleeved shirts and hoodies
- Long-sleeved dresses and cardigans
- Jeans and thermals
- Knee-high boots
I am someone who believes every outfit needs accessories to complete the look, simple things like adding a watch can make a difference. At the moment, I am loving my new *Nordgreen wristwatch in faded green, it feels perfect adding it to a winter outfit. Another accessory that I am thankful to have added to my wardrobe are these gorgeous bras from *Tutti Rouge – fuller bust company. Every 6-months I update all my bras as its good for my back and boobies and these are the best I have had in a long time.
I am excited to have had the chance to transition your autumn wardrobe to winter by replacing some old knitwear items and adding in a few bras and thermals. When I transitioned the summer wardrobe to autumn, it meant when it was time to change it winter, it was easy peasy. This is why I think it is important to update your wardrobe seasonally even if it means just replacing a few sweaters, bras and such.

We normally get a real winter in February so I’ve invested in some thermal leggings for my capsule this year. Luckily, all my knitwear from last year is still in good nick (although I did get new piece from my local charity shop yesterday).

Would it be easier to check your wardrobe after each season has passed so you can buy when it is reduced and are ready for next year? I guess I’m too unfashionable for this though I still love that bra

I’ve swapped knitwear for slogan sweatshirts this year, a bit more practical for me when I’m chasing after the children or we are on family days out.

Knitwear has already started in autumn for me usually, apart from woolen hats and gloves they have been my new winter addition.
