Spring is here and there is no better time than now to update the Spring wardrobe capsule. A couple of weeks before a new season, I make a point of dedicating some time to cleaning up my wardrobe and updating items as and when necessary. I believe having a seasonal capsule is the best way forward and allows me to wear items that I love and don’t waste money on pieces that I will never wear. With a wardrobe capsule, I am able to replace items easily with items that I will spend much of the season wearing.
Since no one has any intention of travelling during the Coronavirus outbreak, I figured now was the best time to update the spring wardrobe capsule. I know it doesn’t feel like it but Spring is here and I intend to use this self-quarantine time to clean our my closet. Every season, I update my seasonal capsule with a few basic essentials and seasonally appropriate items. This season, I am working with Protest Sportswear to share some of the pieces I am adding to the Spring Wardrobe Capsule.

Update The Spring Wardrobe Capsule
Whenever I am updating my wardrobe capsule I always take a moment to review what I already have, what’s practical for the season and what I need to replace. For Spring, I am removing all my winter coats and putting away almost all of my boots except for the ankle boots. I love ankle boots as they are so versatile and so easy to style and goes with almost every outfit.
For this season, the only items that I wish to replace in the Spring capsule are the swimwear items and a few basic pieces. I am someone who believes in repurposing items including clothing where possible. For the Spring capsule, I am repurposing some of my winter jackets by either removing the sleeves or just utilising the vest, it all depends on the jacket. Items to include in your Spring capsule include:
- Cardigans – need to replace
- Trainers – need to replace
- Swimwear – need to buy swim shorts, tankinis
- Basics (tops, underwear, lingerie) – need to buy
- Accessories – chunky jewellery and small scarves, fedora
Protest Sportswear Mini-Review
Protest Sportswear is a Dutch company founded in 1993 by a small group of snowboarders and today the make fashionable and functional sportswear. Each season, the share their seasonal collections that range from bikinis for Spring and Summer and ski & snowboard wear for Autumn and Winter. Prior to them reaching out, I was not familiar with the brand and their too me some time to choose items that I will include in my close once I update the spring wardrobe capsule.
Even though I won’t be wearing the bikini any time soon seeing as our vacation to Spain has been cancelled, I still picked a bikini because it called to me. I love the colour, the design is simple but this bikini bra fits like a glove, having a bigger bust I often struggle but not with their push-up bikini bra. Another item that I picked is this cliche dress canyon in red, it’s so soft, fits well and can be worn in all seasons except winter.
One thing that I noticed about Protest Sportswear that I want to highlight is that the clothing is true of great quality. The look and feel of the pieces I chose truly impressed me and I highly recommend them. Delivery was super quick too, I got my order within 2 days of placing the order.
Whilst at the moment I can not show off my new purchases to the world due to being grounded until further notice, I am still wearing it at home. Being in isolation is the perfect time to spruce up my your spring capsule.

I definitely need a wardrobe update. It’s baggy tees and leggings at the moment when I’m not at work!

I’m trying to create a more capsule wardrobe as I work to ensure I buy no fast fashion or unsustainable clothing choices.

Definitely is the time for an upgrade since we all have plenty of time. A capsule wardrobe sounds like a great idea as well.

Capsule wardrobes are just the best idea, I love their simplicity and they keep my head clear and uncluttered. I do need a bit of a clear out! Mich x

I’ve been looking to add some new sportswear to my wardrobe, I didn’t realise that Protest stocked this – I’ll have to take a look

We were going to do a massive clear out but with all the charity shops and tips closed, it will have to wait. Great idea to create a capsule wardrobe though
