Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Fashion Monday} Disney Inspired Outfit

If you follow me on instagram or are friends with me on Facebook, you will know that I spent this gone weekend in Paris. I spent all day Saturday at Disneyland Paris checking out the two parks: Disney Park and Walt Disney Studios, to say I had the best time ever would be an understatement. Then spent all day Sunday exploring the famous places of Paris both on foot and using a tour bus company. For my Fashion Monday post, I thought I share with you what I wore and though I did not completely go Disney crazy I thought I put together a simple Disney inspired outfit.

Disney Inspired outfit
Those who know me and readers of my blog know how much black items I have in my closet, so it comes as no surprise that 99.99% of this outfit is blacked up but to give Disney some ray of sunshine I picked up the minnie mouse girls glitter t-shirt to give some life to this all black outfit.

Disney Inspired outfit

Before leaving for Paris, I had checked the weather and the weekend looked a bit promising (definitely better than the UK) with spots of sunshine here and here and showers expected later in the day. When I woke up the morning of my visit to Disney the weather was good so I opted for wearing shorts instead of my skinny ripped jeans which I had packed as backup incase the weather changed whilst I was having fun.
A couple of years back I had picked up a Fedora travel hat from New Look which is still holding strong to this day. I love pairing this with my New Look sunglasses which I also got a few months back. When I am not wearing the New Look sunglasses I always pack my new sunglasses from the glasses shop who sent me a pair for review last month.
Knowing I would be walking lots, I packed some trainers and flip-flops. I spent almost all day in flip-flops as the weather was so nice I was able to get away with wearing them at Disneyland Paris. The weather did take a turn for the worst later on in the early evenings so it was handy that I had my cardigan with me to keep warm until I returned to my hotel. Needless to say it did rain, I got soaked because I forgot my umbrella at the hotel and my flip-flops made it harder to run.
I am glad I carried my crossover bag which I also got from New Look a couple of months back because I was able to pack a couple of essentials items like: Portable charger, Iphone, wallet, tickets, water, snacks, maps and headphones. When it started to rain it was nice that none of my items inside the crossover bag got wet though I was drenched, I had the best time ever at Disneyland Paris.
So what do you think of my Disney inspired outfit? Is it something you would wear? Have you ever been to Disneyland Paris or other Disneyland’s around the world?

It’s a long time since we went to Disneyland Paris but we had the most awesome time there and we still have the bright yellow rain gear because, like you experienced, it rained. It didn’t stop the fun though. It’s nice to come across someone else who likes black, my wardrobe is just crying out for more colour but I always seem to buy black.
