Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Bucketlist in Review ~ Life Edit

Last week I shared with you my bucketlist in review ~ Travel Edit, where I listed 15 places I wanted to visit before I reach 30 (July 2017). The second half of the Bucketlist was what I call the Life Edit, where I have listed 15 things I would like to do at-least once before I am 30. I know some of these things I would have done earlier but time and money didn’t seem to be available to me. I am now in a better position where I could at least put an effort into trying this things and if I can’t accomplish them in the next 13 months it won’t be the end of the world but it would be disappointing. So without further delay, let’s have a look at what I had listed in my Life Edit part of the 30before30 bucketlist.

Life Edit bucketlist

Life Edit Review

  • Buy or start renting my own place – Still not bought but I have been renting for over a year now and since my credit score will be back up in few months time I will start thinking about a mortgage.
  • Attend a concert (either O2 arena or Wembley)
  • Watch a musical or attend a theatre
  • Face one of my fears – there are many maybe heights to start with. – Everyone has fears of some sort mine was doing things alone, living as a single woman etc. Though I am not completely over heights and other fears I have taken a positive step forward on each.
  • Take a cooking or baking class
  • Learn how to drive (manual or automatic) – I am still learning how to drive, I need to re-do my car theory test and once I pass that I can do my practical.
  • Buy a car – Once the above is done, I can then buy a car.
  • Go to Disney Paris – I am heading to Paris this coming weekend and got my Disney two parks pass so I am definitely crossing this off the list.
  • Take boo to Zambia/Malawi
  • Visit the Victoria Falls
  • Visit the States – Though it was a business trip, I managed to go to New Jersey & New York last year and hoping to go again this year.
  • Run a race for life
  • Do a 30 days challenge and complete it
  • Visit a winery
  • Go hiking or camping

There are so many things that I want to do before I am thirty but the ones above are some that I would like to do at least once before I am thirty. Though not an exhaustive list I would really love to do all the things listed above.

Do you have a bucketlist?

What are some of the things you want to accomplish before your next big milestone?
