The Langstone Cliff Hotel is owned and managed by the Rogers family hotel since 1946. It is nested on 19 acres of woodland in South Devon with magnificent sea views overlooking the Exe Estuary. The Langstone Cliff Hotel is the number choice of accommodation in South Devon offering the perfect stay for the family.

Devon is one of the most magnificent counties in the Southwest of England and home to sandy beaches and medieval towns. The county of Devon is also home to the Jurassic coast and home to the English Rivera. We had an incredible time exploring South of Devon and the Langstone Cliff Hotel was our weekend base.

Langstone Cliff Hotel Review

The Langstone Cliff Hotel is located a few minutes walk from the beach and the famous nature reserve at Dawlish Warren. Every season, the hotel offers a variety of entertainment from summer jazz weekend to loyalty weekends. In our article, we hope to share some facts, accommodation options, restaurant and our thoughts about the hotel.

Our drive from Oxford to Devon was a glorious one with the snow covering most of the countryside. Three hours after, we arrived at the hotel which boasts one of the best views in Dawlish Warren. Our check-in was pretty swift, the staff was very welcoming and quickly showed us to our room.

ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS

The hotel is equipped with 64 en-suite bedrooms across two floors and almost all are air-conditioned. One ground floor room is equipped with a spacious lounge. There are several family rooms, (all different sizes) and 6 family suites – the suites have more than one bedroom – there are 2 that have a double bedded room and a twin bedded, 3 that have a double bedded room and a single bedded room, 1 that has a double bedded room, a twin bedded room and a single room

All of our rooms include:

What we loved about the room is it not only had charging ports for USB ports as well near the bed. The mattresses were super comfortable and the pillow were not bad either. We loved that we could control the heating of our room though wish the TV had more channels other than sports.

Food and Drink

The Langstone Cliff Hotel restaurant – the Lincoln restaurant and serves; breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our time in Devon was spent exploring the English countryside, by the time we checked into the hotel, it was late. We, therefore, decided to have dinner in our room and ordered in some room service.

Looking through the menu, we were happy that the menu catered to vegetarians, having a pescatarian in our family this helped. We absolutely enjoyed the dinner but the £3 charge per tray for room service hurt. Though we didn’t get to check out the restaurant during we did during breakfast which was absolutely lovely. The restaurant;

• Serves breakfast from 7.30 am until 10 am Mon-Sat and 8 am on Sunday
• Lunchtime should be booked in advance and Sunday starts from 12.30
• Dinner is served from 6.45 pm Mon-Sun
• Ingredients are locally sourced where possible
• They serve flavoursome dishes from a versatile menu
• Light lunches and snacks are provided

We were really impressed with the breakfast options, the menu is jam-packed with goodness. I was glad to learn that they store to dairy-free milk and cater the vegetarians too. We were glad that the breakfast menu has loads of options from cereal, continental to cooked breakfast.

Our thoughts on Langstone Cliff Hotel

When we arrived, we were totally blown away by the view of the English channel on its front lawn. We were also taken aback by the size of the hotel, the drive away to the hotel is very deceiving. Walking through the hall way to the reception, we were great by two lovely smiley staff members. Within a few minutes we were directed to our rooms after offering to carry our luggage.

The suite we were allocated had 3 beds – 2 singles and 1 double bed all of which were super comfortable. We both had such a good night’s sleep we can’t wait to return. We had such a glorious view of the sea from our room, it was nice to look out at sea early in the morning.

We can not recommend the hotel enough, the beddings was soft and so was the pillow. After a long day exploring the county, it was nice to come back to such a relaxing place. We enjoyed a nice room service, great night sleep and filling breakfast before we hit the road.
