For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to visit Orlando, its a place high on my Bucketlist. With the trip to California coming up, it has me thinking about planning a separate trip just for Orlando. Everyone knows Orlando is the theme park capital of the world but what is not often talked what else it has to offer.
Orlando is a city in central Florida and not only is it a hot spot for all theme parks in the USA, its a hub for relaxation and wellness. One of the many reasons I have always wanted to visit Orlando is for Walt Disney and its nightlife. Ever since my trip to Disneyland Paris, all I have wanted is to visit the mother of all theme parks.
In this post, I aim to highlight a few reasons to visit Orlando and no, it’s not all theme parks. Orlando has a lot to offer individual, couples and family travellers, I personally want to visit Universal Studios.
3 Reasons To Visit Orlando
Florida has one of the best weathers in the world, with over 200 days of sunshine, it is no wonder it’s one of the most visited states in the USA. When the weather is good, people, in general, are happier and more inclined to enjoy the great weather outdoors.
Recently, I shared America’s Hidden Treasures and though Orlando did not make the cut, it deserves its own spot. Apart from the theme parks, I want to share two other reasons to visit Orlando. Though it is the theme park capital of the world, it is also a great destination.
- Exciting New Attractions – one of the many reasons why Orlando is impressive is that every year there are new attractions introduced. This keeps people entertained and eager to go back for another visit since its something new.
- Excellent Nightlife – though am not one for nights out of the town, when I travel I always check out the nightlife. Orlando is jam-packed with lively bars and restaurants. There are a few swanky bars that I know would be high on my list to check out.
- Relaxation and Wellness – it might surprise many but Orlando offers a plethora of facilities that focus on improving your overall wellbeing. It is such a fast-paced city that wellness is not something that most would associate with the city.
One thing to note about Orlando is that, whilst it’s home to the best theme parks in the world, it does cater to all. Often when we think about theme parks we think something for the kids to enjoy and not for adults. Orlando is different in that it makes you feel like a kid again whilst still catering to an adult.
Another thing to love about Orlando is the value for money that you get, there are so many ways available to save money. I am excited to be planning a trip there in the near future and hope to receive recommendations.
Have you ever been to Orlando? What would you recommend I do first apart from the theme park?
