Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

3 Beautiful Fashion items you need every Winter

PR Sample

With our autumn bound to be short-lived thanks to winter, I thought I share 3 beautiful fashion items you need every winter. I am someone who values quality over quantity although, on occasion, I don’t mind another 7 pairs of shoes being added to my already large collection. Over the last couple of years, I have invested in good quality clothing especially for winter as I don’t like being cold.

The most recent additions are 3 beautiful fashion items you need every winter which I am absolutely in love with: ankle boots, winter (snow) jacket and accessories. I am someone who does not enjoy the cold in the slightest so I always welcome opportunities that supports my desire to stay warm all the time. As the weather continues to feel more like winter than autumn, its only natural that I share the 3 beautiful fashion items you need every winter.

3 Beautiful Fashion items you need every Winter

Over the last couple of years, I have made every effort to invest in good quality clothing that would enable me to continue my travels and not be phased by the cold. The items that I am including in this post, are items that are of good quality and I can see myself using them for years and years. The brands mentioned in this post are either those I have worked with previously or are well known and trusted.

The older I get the more I find myself gravitating more and more towards a minimalist lifestyle (except for shoes). I have found myself valuing items that are bound to last longer in most aspects of my life. Those who know me have been shocked by this change in me where I rarely shop and when I do, its only essential items that I know I need and will utilise. This is why I am excited to share 3 beautiful fashion items you need every winter.

Fashion Item You Need: Winter Jacket

As a summer baby, there is nothing I despise more than being cold eh-go, winter is not my favourite season. But as a traveller, I know I can not hibernate forever so I search for clothing that I know will keep me warm throughout the colder months. *Protest is a brand I worked with during the warmer months and I am excited to share the ski winter jackets for women and ski winter jackets for men from their winter collection.

As a frequent traveller, there is nothing I appreciate more than adding essential items to my wardrobe that will enable me to continue with my travels. This is why I am truly excited to be collaborating with brands that continue to support my desire to continue travelling even through the crazy weather situations. I am glad to be adding their fleeces for women to my winter wardrobe and a few items like woolly hats that complete the look.

I am glad to be working with Protest and must admit, they have some of the most beautiful pieces to match every season. With winter almost upon us, I am in love with my Babe Retro ski jacket Atlantic that is keeping me warm on all my day trips.

Protest has been kind enough to offer all A July Dreamer readers a 10% coupon using the code: julydreamer10. This coupon is valid until February 28, 2021. There are no further restrictions on the use of this coupon.

Beautiful Fashion Item: Chelsea Boots

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved ankle boots, I have more ankle boots in my wardrobe than handbags. I find them easy to style, can be worn in more seasons that full-length boots plus they don’t hug my skin. Those who know me, know that I have an unhealthy obsession with ankle boots and I am always looking at the next best thing.

Thanks to the collaboration with *Dr Martens, I have a new pair of Chelsea boots that I absolutely adore. It has been a while since I found a pair of boots that I did not wish to take off and enjoy the feel of them on my feet. I am glad to have had this opportunity to own my first pair of Dr Martens and now my friends can stop acting so shocked at my ignorance.

I am so happy with my Chelsea boots, they are a perfect fit for someone like me with small ankles. When I first tried them on I thought they would be too heavy because of the platform but I wore them recently on a night out and they were perfect. I found the boots to be so comfortable, they didn’t make me feel sweaty but kept my toes warm.

Essential Winter Items: Accessories

Winter accessories are one of my favourite fashion accessories of all time, I would choose wooly hats and scarves over jewellery. There is something about being wrapped up warm and snuggly that speaks to my inner child. As the days get colder every week, I have invested in some warm wooly hats, thick indoor socks, scarves and gloves.

Another set of essential accessories I have added to my winter closet are cardigans from H&M which are not only soft but warm too. It came as quite a shock for me to find such cute but simple gems in my favourite clothing store. Whenever I pick cardigans I often gravitate towards darker colours but this time round I am picking lighter beige and lighter greys.

Whenever I go shopping whether online or in-store, I always shop with my current closet in mind. When I picked the Chelsea Boots from Dr Martens, I knew I had denim jeans and shorts that I can pair them up with. Picking the winter coat from Protest I chose a colour winter coat that would match my wardrobe items.

I am absolutely loving the pieces I included in my ‘3 beautiful fashion items you need every winter’ post and hope you do too.

I do enjoy winter but due to a chronic illness find the cold adds to my pain so make sure I’m dressed well for winter. Love those Chelsea boots, would love a pair for myself.

I would be lost without my added extras over winter . Hat gloves and scarfs are worn every time I go out , it’s to cold to not wear them ! 🙂

I totally agree with these items, they are must haves. I really need to get myself some new boots, well when I say that I mean ankle boots rather than over the knee
