Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Affordable Interior Styling Hacks That Look High-End

Creating a luxurious, high-end interior doesn’t have to cost a fortune. With some clever interior styling hacks and cost-effective updates, you can transform your home into a space that is stylish and sophisticated without blowing the budget.

Whether you’ve just moved into a new build home, are personalising a rental, or refreshing your forever home, these affordable interior tips will help you achieve a premium look without the price tag.

Creating a luxurious, high-end interior doesn’t have to cost a fortune. With some clever interior styling hacks and cost-effective updates, you can transform your home into a space that is stylish and sophisticated without blowing the budget.

Transform with Paint

One of the simplest yet most effective ways to refresh any space is with a new coat of paint. The right shade can completely update and transform the look and feel of any room. For a clean and timeless backdrop, opt for neutral shades such as soft greys, beiges, creams, or off-whites. To add more personality and make a statement, consider a bold, rich hue for a feature wall, such as deep green, navy, or terracotta, to add depth and interest.

Install DIY Panelling for a Luxe Look

Wall panelling adds instant character, texture and a sense of architectural detail to any space. It’s especially effective in new-build houses where the interiors may start out looking plain or minimal. Fortunately, you don’t need a carpenter to be able to achieve the look – DIY panelling kits are affordable, widely available and relatively easy to install, making them an accessible upgrade for most homeowners.

Whether you go for half-wall panelling in a bedroom or a full-wall grid style in the lounge, panelling creates an elegant, tailored feel that elevates your space.

Upgrade Lighting Fixtures

Lighting is often overlooked, but it can completely change how a room looks and feels. Swap out standard ceiling lights for something more eye-catching, like a sculptural pendant, modern chandeliers, brass-finish lamps or a designer-inspired shade.

Consider layering different types of lighting, such as ambient, task, and accent, to create warmth and dimension. Mix table lamps, wall sconces, and floor lamps to create warmth and ambience throughout the space and add a touch of luxury.

Source Second-Hand Treasures

Luxury doesn’t always mean brand new. Vintage pieces can bring charm, character, and a unique edge to your interiors that flashy new pieces can’t. Scouring online marketplaces, charity shops, and car boot sales can lead to affordable, one-of-a-kind treasures. Look out for vintage mirrors, mid-century furniture, or unique artwork that will help to bring character to your home. With a little sanding, a fresh coat of paint, or new upholstery, you can give older furniture a new lease of life and create a bespoke, high-end finish for a fraction of the cost.
