Autumn is in full swing in Oxford and so far it’s been brilliant, not too cold and even given us some sunny days. Presently I am giving dating a miss but regardless I thought I share some ideas you can take up on for your autumnal dates. I thought I focus on an area I am familiar with hence Autumn date night ideas in Oxford. If you haven’t been to Oxford city yet, I hope this post will be an excuse enough to visit. There is so much a couple can get up to in Oxford, from popping into your favourite book store to exploring the many alleys.

Oxford city is not only famous for its centuries old university but all the colleges that make up Oxford University. Autumn Date night ideas in Oxford 

Because every couple is different, I am sharing two different but similar ideas for movies/shows and food. Whilst I appreciate some would much rather spend time at home, once in a while one must indulge. Especially for those that are eager to get out of the house and try something new.

Theatre 

For the longest time I have wanted to visit a theatre and soon I will be. The idea of watching a fan favourite show for the first time is exciting. Visiting the theatre to watch your favourite show is not only romantic but blooming amazing. Oxford re-opened the old theatre and now it’s up for the taking, they have incredible shows lined up weekly.

Odeon cinema 

If theatre is not your cuppa tea, you could always hit up the Odeon cinema and Oxford has two. In the outskirts of the city you can find Cineworld but if you’re hoping to be in the centre then Odeon. So many great movies have come out in 2017, you will be spoilt for choice.

Pizza and wine at Franco Manca 

Franco Manca is one of the newly opened Pizza restaurants in Oxford and offers the best pizza paired with best wine. If you love pizza especially sourdough pizza and wine then this is the place for you. The ambiance is romantic, the decor very enticing and you get to see your food being made.

Thai cuisine at Thaikhun 

Another spot I can recommend if Pizza is not for you is Thaikhun, a Thai restaurant in the heart of the city. The restaurant is in close proximity to an Odeon cinema as well other Franco Manca. Thaikhun is not  only a large restaurant, it has an amazing boat hanging from the ceiling. Definitely makes for an interesting conversation whilst you wait on the food.

Stroll across the city 

Oxford is a safe city to take a stroll in either during the date or at night, obviously caution has to be exercised in every city. But Oxford offers much more than most cities, the mixture of history and modern-day culture intertwined.

Spend the night in Jail at Malmaison Oxford

Whether you’re local or traveling from afar nothing beats finishing your date and spending the night in jail. I mean not the actual jail because that would ruin the date and the mood but Malmaison Oxford. You get to experience a night in jail but with all the life trimmings thrown in for good measure. A colleague at work stayed there for a few nights and could not recommend it enough. I would recommend to try this place out to bring some variety to your dating life.

Restaurants are plentiful in Oxford, so are museums, book stores and nice little cafes to meet everyone’s needs. If you ever get a chance to visit Oxford, visit early morning and stay till late to get the feel of the city.
