Are you stuck indoors and are searching for the best things to do when you are stuck at home? Well, look no further because I have compiled 5 fun activities you can do at home and this one is geared towards adults. Over the last few months, it’s been tough for many being stuck indoors and not having much choice in where we can go because almost everything is closed. It can take a toll on one’s mental health and overall wellbeing once cabin fever sets in for the millionth time.
But, being stuck indoors doesn’t have to be such a bad thing especially when you can get busy with various activities. I am a travel addict and often I can be found on a flight somewhere far from cold London but over the last few months, most of us have not had the privilege to jump on the next flight out and are going stir crazy being at home. We are back into full lockdown again and people are wondering what are the best things to do when you are stuck at home? In this post, I hope to share some ideas of things that you can do.

BEST THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU ARE STUCK AT HOME
Over the last 9+ months, most of us have found ourselves in complete lockdown and whilst the first time might have been tough, the umpteenth one is even tougher. Staying at home 24-7 with little to no respite can be tough on anyone and it can slowly but surely start to work on one’s mental health. This is why it is so important to find things to do that you keep you up-beat as we plough through the next few months of the national lockdown.
Being stuck indoors can be as fun or as terrible as you make it and I intend to make every one of them as fun as possible. I have little choice in how the rest of the world operates but I have total control of how things operate within my home and I am focusing on things that I can change and not those that I can not. The activities that I am recommending in this post are something you are already familiar with but may be overlooked for something more exciting.

Enjoy a Movie Marathon
I am a TV addict so for me, this is a no-brainer. I enjoy watching movie marathons every evening after work and of late I am enjoying Nat Geo on Disney+ and watching Ice road truckers as well as what’s in our oceans. If you have other streaming services like Netflix or Prime Video, you will definitely be spoiled for choice on things movies or series that you can watch in the comfort of your own home.
During weekends I also make sure to rewatch some of my favourite movies or series and just catch up on them. I intend to rewatch Harry Potter movies as well as the Die Hard movies since now I have finished the Bad Boy franchise. You really can go to town with how many choices most of us have at the tip of our hands. Make sure to make some popcorn and buy soda drinks beforehand to make it like you are at the cinema.
Pick up a new Book
Reading has become my rekindled addiction, when I was young I used to spend so much time lost in a book that I used to forgo almost everything. At the moment I am re-reading some of the international bestsellers I introduced my readers too a few weeks back. I have also started reading a lot of books on investing money in the stock market – this is something I have always done but did not have the kind of knowledge I have now and glad to be making informed decisions.
If you are looking for book recommendations, I will be sharing an article next week on books that I am currently reading this year and you might want to add them to your reading list. I mostly like romantic and thriller genres but right now I am focusing on self-help books and financial market because of my current investment portfolio.

Bake up a storm in your kitchen
I am sure like me you are tired of all the banana bread recipes on your social media timelines but you don’t have to just watch them, you should join them. Of late I am making a lot of pastries as I have discussed puff pastry – I don’t have to do everything from scratch anymore and I am loving the varies recipes I have been trying so far. Yesterday I made my first cinnamon rolls and though they bummed, they tasted delicious even if they didn’t look it.
One thing I have also been encouraging my none-bakes to do is look at non-bake recipes. I shared how I make my no-bake energy balls and even now they are a fan favourite and they are so easy to make, they just require a little patience. Search for some recipes on Pinterest and don’t concentrate on making them look like what they have online so long as they taste great you are fine.
Bubble bath everyday
If you are looking for me I will be in my bathroom soaking in a lovely bubble bath trying to use up all the Lush bath bombs I got as presents. I am an in-and-out kind of girl this is why I prefer showers but on occasion, I do love soaking in the bath and reminiscing about the not so distant past when I could travel to far-flung destinations. Bubble baths are the best form of self-care that is so underrated.
If you don’t have a bath, I recommend having a pamper session, have a nice long shower, do your nails, shave (I know you’re not going anywhere) and slap on a face moisturising mask and relax. If like me you spend hundreds on skincare then this is your time to make full use of all the monies you spent on the products. I have enjoyed moisturising face masks to last me another 6 months before I need to purchase some more.

Tied up your home
I know this is not what you were expecting when you read ‘best things to do when you are stuck at home’ but tidying up your home can be fun. Think about it another way, when was the last time you had so much time on your hands to dedicate to just tidying up your make, finishing off all the mundane jobs you have often neglected? As a new homeowner (I long should I wait before I stop calling myself this because it’s almost a been a year now), I have taken pleasure in being stuck at home and focusing on decorating my home the way I want.
Since buying my home, every room except the office and storage area in need of some serious decoration. I have changed up my living room setting more times than I care to count but I love this. Even though I don’t consider myself a home stylist, my home is my place of zen so everything has to be absolutely perfect. I intend to use all this ‘free time’ we have due to being stuck at home to decorate and declutter my home.

These are some awesome suggestions to enjoy the time at home. Reading a new book and watching a great movie is the best way to spend your time in isolation or when you are stuck at home.

Lovely suggestions, we enjoy reading, watching movies and have played so many board games over the last few months. However I find it hard to motivate my boys to do as much different activities as I would like, they prefer console gaming!

I’m trying to spend my time now organising and decluttering my house as it makes me feel so much calmer when things are tidy. But I also love to read and binge watch TV so I’ve had plenty of time to do that x

Movie and series marathon is my favorite. Since my teens are dealing with online schooling, we are pretty occupied helping them on this part though so all others you mentioned here can be done on weekends rather. THANKS for sharing here
