Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Bloggers, Events and Friends

IMG_5366This post has been long overdue, I have been wanting to write this post for a long time but been so busy that it kept being pushed back. When I started blogging I knew no blogger except for the few bloggers that I had been introduced to by my sister and some that I found myself. I have a daily ritual which due to my insomnia depicts when I get up, sometimes its 2am some times its 4am but its always before 6:30 ( that’s when I have to get up and get ready for work). This daily ritual goes something like this, switch on my computer and head over to bloglovin where I scout out what Vivianna a blogger/vlogger and her close friend Lily pebbles who is also a blogger/vlogger had posted the previous day since they post their first post at 7am every morning. Once done scouting through these posts I head over to my blogger friend Jemma of Celery & Cupcakes, I do not even remember how we met but I know its via a facebook group and before we knew what happened we had met up in person. She was still pregnant then (now a an even more beautiful mama) but I promise you she did not look it she is so beautifully slim which she credits to eating the right foods and exercising. Once I finish checking out what this new mamma has posted I head over to Erica’s blog to check out what product she is reviewing or what makeup look she has in store. My other good blogger friend who like Erica have never met before is Dharia, I am sure you remember her Guest post on this blog. I love this girl and always check out her blog and follow her on facebook and twitter. She features different bloggers from around the world, I love her writing style and she is so easy to love. The other blogger I check on like clock work is Fiona of Dolly Dowise, I met her through facebook groups and though never met in person I feel like if we did we would hit it off. She is a mummy to Tyler Lee the most adorable boy you will ever see, I just love his curly hair I am always jealous.

And that is my morning ritual before I leave the house, and if after I finish the above and still have time to support other blogs I do that but otherwise I use the time I walk to the bus stop and on the bus to work to finish up sending some love or finishing up facebook groups.

IMG_5310Recently I attended a blogger event ‘Chinese lunch’ in London where we had some amazing Dim Sum, in my Dim Sum lunch post I mentioned that I would share the contents of the goodie bag and the names of the food we had and I am keeping my word. Check out this post by the lovely people at the Millennium Hotel where the days event and the goodie bag contents are revealed. At this blogger event I met more lovely bloggers who have now become part of my daily routine, though I do not check their blogs in the morning I am checking throughout the day and I am having fun reading their about pages to get to know them better. I am sure you will agree that these are some amazing blogs.

Information on these bloggers is taken from there about pages.

Bei of Health Conscious Lifestyle, currently working for my local government as a Business Support Officer. I have recently joined as an Independent Consultant for Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic, promoting all thing organic (beauty) as I feel it is important to be mindful of the things we put on our body as well as what we put in our bodies. I LOVE keeping fit and take part in various fitness classes at my gym. I currently do RPM – which is the indoor cycling workout where you ride to the rhythm of powerful music. Body Balance –  which is Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength. Body Attack –  ia sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina and Body Combat – cardio workout inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, taekwondo, tai chi and muay thai.

Tee of Styling the way forward describes herself as; a 20 something years old Nigerian-born Londoner that work in finance by day and writer/blogger by night, cool life or nah? I love pretty things, and I have an uncontrollable addiction for nail lacquer! I express this addiction of mine on my Instagram page @TunVogue by documenting my manicure of the week with the hashtag #ManicureMonday so do follow and let me know what you think by commenting. I’m not a stylist I just love dressing up and looking good …come along with me on my journey, not sure where it’s leading but it’s going to be an interesting one! (Philippians 4:13)…

Ronke Editor of Brown Beauty: With over 15 years in journalism and marketing, Ronke has worked for a wide variety of companies in the B2B and B2C sector. When not editing brownbeauytalk she works as a freelance digital marketing consultant. She describes herself as a lover of books, films and TV who is obsessed with skincare and all things pretty. Her favourite beauty products are; her MAC Tablet lipstick because it is the closest shade to brown that she can find, DHC mascara because it has an amazing wand and leaves her lashes with a velvety feel and the Bobbi Brown foundation which she loves, loves, loves because it leaves her skin feeling silky and luminous. When she is going out she needs to have mascara and lipstick or lipgloss on or she feels naked. Overall she cannot live without lip balm, she needs this item in her life.

And the final blogger I met is Erin of Island Bell, a British/Japanese New Yorker currently working in digital marketing in London.I have previously lived in New York, Manchester, Seoul, Tokyo and Belgrade and have once again made London my home. This blog is mostly about my life in London, my love of cooking (gluten-free!)  and travel.

I love having new blogs to check out every morning and throughout the day when I can. I try to dedicate one day a month to reading a new blog and commenting, and if I get a new reader who is a fellow blogger I make sure I return the favour on their blog too.

What new blogs have you been reading lately?

I really need more blogger friends in real life. I find that it gets hard to stay motivated and I think it’s because I need a group of folks who I can lean on and bounce idea’s off of. Great post and thank you for linking to these great blogs.
