Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Christmas 2017 #giftideas} How-to get the best present for Christmas #OneLessWorry

Christmas 2017 gift ideas is a new Christmas edition on A July Dreamer helping you prepare for festive season and sharing our best gift ideas. We have only a mere 7 weeks left before Christmas is here and gone and wondering why you were stressed out. To make sure you don’t suffer the same mistakes as the previous years, here are some tips that have worked for us in the past.

In collaboration with Contact Numbers UK, we are sharing #OneLessWorry tips to UK households in this campaign. Contact Numbers UK have a vast directory of customer service contact numbers that cover a variety of industries. One such customer service is that for John Lewis who are a popular British retailer of Home, Fashion and lifestyle products. Thanks to the #OneLessWorry campaign by Contact Numbers UK, we are going to ensure Christmas 2017 is the best one yet.

How-to get the best present for Christmas #OneLessWorry

I used to be that person that bought Christmas presents only a few days before Christmas. I shudder just thinking about the kinds of presents I gave my family, friends and colleagues if any. Needless to say those presents are not spoken about to this day and people are much happier with the new and improved me. So how did I turn it all around for the better? Well, here are my secrets;

Write it down

In the next few weeks you will be running around like a headless chicken because you know you have forgotten something. It’s always a pain when I know I have forgotten something but I can’t remember what until it’s too late. As a lover and frequent user of to-do lists I utilize my many notepads to write down everything and tick off as I go. Now what should you write down on your list? Well to start off, write down people you’re grateful to have in your life and what you want to get them. This could be anyone from family, friends, coworkers and even your next door neighbor and school teachers.

Find the perfect gift

Now you know who you want to buy a present for, it’s time to find that present to match the person. If you’re ever in doubt of what to get Prestige Hampers have amazing hampers for all seasons. Finding the perfect gift depends on the person you’re buying the present for. For the Fashionable Him, you can pick something you know he wants and needs. You know your loved ones better than anyone but if you need gift ideas for her, Pinterest is your friend. Something to also consider is gifts that one can experience as opposed to something they won’t even use.

Find the services and know the contact numbers

One thing I know I am not very good at is wrapping presents to make them look cute and presentable. I am good at buying the presents that people need but it doesn’t mean wrapping is now my thing, it isn’t. If you’re trying to save some pennies during the festive season watch some YouTube videos for tips on wrapping. But if you’re like me then check if the store you get presents from offer gift wrapping services. I know most companies do offer them free especially around the festive season.

These are my tips on how to get the best present for Christmas, share some of yours.

Wow, that’s a lot of money on gifts! And especially if so many of them are unwanted. We try to keep it small, and I like to give handmade or food gifts where I can.

Some really good points here. I surprised myself this year and was well organised. I had a good list and knew what i was going to get everyone. I completed the last of my shopping today, before the stores get crazy! I always love to go into the store and buy items rather then online. Im too impatient, i like to get things now! Have a great and safe Christmas! x

I know I need to figure out gifts for my daughter for Christmas. I am not sure what I am going to be doing honestly. I will figure it out though and the wrapping, although mostly I do that myself.

I am so bad at wrapping gifts, I lose patience with the process. I really love to use cute gift boxes.

Nothing more stressful (and usually disappointing) than waiting for the last minute to buy gifts! I like your approach to planning and being prepared!
