As a frequent traveller, there is nothing I love more than dining at the airport before a flight because we all know airport, and plane prices can get extortionately high. This is why I was excited when I was offered a chance to dine at Hilton London Heathrow Airport situated by Heathrow terminal 4. It is nearby the airport but does not have airport prices which is a huge plus for Hilton.
Hilton hotels are one of my favourite hotel chains to stay at but I have rarely given their in house restaurants a try. The invite to dine at Hilton London Heathrow Airport came at the right time as I was travelling to Madrid. I was truly amazed at how conveniently located Hilton London Heathrow Airport is and how very accessible it is for this driving to the airport.
Did you know that Hilton London Heathrow airport hotel is located 7 minutes walk from Heathrow terminal 4? They offer free airport shuttle service to terminal 5 but for other terminals you have to walk to terminal 4 then take the airport shuttle buses. For hotel guests, you can park at the hotel for £20 a day and for everyone else, you pay the normal rate.
Disclosure: I was a guest of Hilton for the purpose of reviewing the dining experience at their Hilton London Heathrow Airport.
Dine at Hilton London Heathrow Airport
When you visit Hilton London Heathrow Airport you will be amazed at the number of dinning options available at your disposal. For the purpose of this review, we visited the Aromi restaurant which is situated next to Zen oriental restaurant in the corner. The Aromi restaurant only serves breakfast from 5am and dinner from 6pm, other than for groups or special functions, lunch is not served.
The restaurant specialises in serving Mediterranean cuisines with modern influences and it endeavours to serve its signature dishes with fresh ingredients. We loved that the restaurant is happy to alter a dish to meet your dietary needs if necessary and the staff were very accommodating. During our visit to the restaurant we found the staff very friendly and great with recommendations on wine pairings.
The Aromi restaurant is a 140 seater restaurant located on the ground floor of Hilton London Heathrow Airport. Though booking a table is highly recommend it, you can also just turn up and try your luck. We noticed that the restaurant got busier around 8pm but was quite when we arrived around 7pm.
The Starter at Aromi Restaurant {4/5}
The restaurant offers a few options for the starter and as I wanted to ascertain the portion sizes, we ordered a mix meze platter for 2 and calamari. It suffice to say, we shouldn’t have ordered the calamari, as delicious as it was, the mix meze platter was absolutely sufficient.
Between the tier sharing platter and the delicious bread offered at our table, we did not need the calamari. The calamari was nice and crispy and was paired with a salad which was fine but we prefer calamari with a sauce or dip.
The Mains at Aromi Restaurant {4\5}
Whenever I visit a new restaurant, I always ask for recommendations and on the occasions when I don’t I always choose the safe option, which is fish. I always feel that fish is one of those foods that you can’t really mess up. I shouldn’t have worried because I choose the Moroccan spiced lamb shank with lentil casserole which were cooked to perfection, the meat literally fell of the bones.
Winceats.com who accompanied me to review the restaurant went for the grilled beef fillet. She requested medium rare but what she got was medium to well done, which she said was lovely but she prefers are meat medium rare. The beef fillet was well seasoned and accompanied with mushrooms which she found slightly salty to her liking but the potato gratin was absolutely divine.
Dessert at Aromi Restaurant
I often joke with my friends that when it comes to dessert, I have a separate stomach for it. It does not matter how full I feel, I always have room for dessert and I rarely ever turn down any offering. This time was no different. I chose the glazed orange tart with blood orange sorbet which I found to be absolutely delicious and a little too sweet for some. I have a huge sweet tooth so I did not mind the sweetness but I think it might be too much for some.
Winsze chose the apple tart satin with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce, this was definitely too sweet for my sweet tooth, the caramel made it even more sweet but definitely a delicious dessert all in all. I would recommend this dessert but without the caramel or without the ice cream but I think the ice cream worked really well with the apple tart.
Our bill for the meal for the 2 of us came to just under £100, it would have been less than £90 if we had not ordered the calamari for starter as well as the platter. Please note this price is without drinks, we both had a glass of wine so for 2 people it would be about a £100.
The menu was simple but had some great dishes especially for the mains section. There are a few sides on offer and my favourite sweet potato fries makes a feature. For those thinking £100 for 2 is a lot {for London} and wish to save money, then I would recommend the Lebanese platter {£38} or the Greek platter {£30}. We had such an amazing time at Aromi restaurant and glad to have tried a few of their dishes which were delicious.

I do always like to have a proper meal when I go away as flight food isn’t always that great. This sounds good and I guess £100 for 3 courses isn’t too bad as you ordered quite a lot of food x
Miranda says
I am the same, I don’t try to risk it with flights especially if I am flying economy and yes we ordered loads of food.

I think £100 for 2 isn’t that bad. I went to a local pub and had a 3 corse for 2 of us and it was £80 total. Looks like an amazing meal out!
