Father’s Day Gift Ideas ~ Daddy’s Choice

Last week I shared with you Father’s Day gift ideas from my perspective. I looked at the gifts we’ve given my dad over the years and I thought this year we do them a little differently like gift him ‘Experience Days’. He used to love golfing when I was young so I figured it’s something I could make happen for him by booking him a day at the golf coast but then I thought what if I asked him what he really wanted? So the idea of daddy’s choice was born and since the idea cam to me late at night I texted him and he replied instantly. What he chose has really surprised me but also not surprised me at the same time.

Bible

Unless you know me in person you wouldn’t know that my Father is a priest so it is no surprise that the first item on my dad’s choice of Father’s Day gifts is a Bible.

Charcoal Grey Suit

Not sure why but as he gets older he has started to love grey suits more than anything else. At church as a priest he has to wear black suit and tie with white shirt especially if he’s holding the sermon. Whenever he goes shopping with my mum he always talks about getting a grey suit. He does have two now, one he wore at my brother’s wedding last year and the other he’s worn to my graduation, my brother’s graduation, my sister’s graduation and he’s own graduation from university. I guess he really does love he’s grey suit.

Grey necktie

As I have mentioned above, he’s love for grey has been growing for the last few years now. I love how my daddy looks in he’s grey suit but not actually seen him wearing the grey necktie except for my graduation and my brother’s wedding.

Black shoes

This one is obvious as black shoes go with everything in everyone’s closet. He does have a number of black shoes but obviously he feels he needs new ones now. I am busy searching for deals on men’s shoes so I can grab him a pair.

Shaving machine

Growing up I remember my uncles used to joke how grand dad used to shave with a broken bottle, it was a family joke. Then I saw him using a broken bottle to shave and that scared the bejesus out of me, shaving machines (as my dad calls them) is something I have little knowledge on. So when he asked for one I had to go back to him and ask which one and what brand, he said any Gillette Profusion shaver would do just fine. I was able to grab THIS from amazon which has now been delivered (You’ve got to love amazon prime).

So there you have it, daddy’s choice of Father’s Day gift ideas.

What do you think of my daddy’s choice?

Good idea to ask your dad to pick the choices! I really must get on with organising things for Father’s Day! I agree with your dad – I think grey suits are nice for men, & I prefer them to black suits. (Lucy/R is for Hoppit)
