Happy Birthday Zambia {+Giveaway}

Day 2Hi there and welcome, today marks the 50th independence anniversary for my motherland Zambia. I have been waiting for today all week, it’s been a hell of a week but one that I am enjoying very much. I am very privileged to come from a country that only knows peace. God has blessed us profoundly and I am grateful for that, I remember this one time when “captain solo” as he called himself threatened to over throw the then president and rule the country. It was the most frightening thing I have ever experienced, I remember schools getting shut that day and people refusing to work so they can find out if the country’s leadership was gonna be taken over or not, though it lasted only a couple of hours before this man and his men were apprehended it felt like forever.

Anyway back to the good stuff, tomorrow I will join my fellow country men in celebrating this important date and reminisce about the good old days back in the motherland. But before that can happen I wanted to share with my readers this wonderful giveaway I am co-hosting with other wonderful ladies.
