Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

The Happy List {#2}

The Happy List is a new series that has replaced Five Things series which I found myself struggling to do. It’s a lovely post idea and I enjoyed it for all of 24/25 weeks before I threw in the towel. To such it came across as boosting that oooh look at me and the awesome things I did. And to others it was just a lovely series but since I can’t please everyone I chose to please me. The Happy List will document all the awesome things that made me happy each ending week. The little things in life that I normally don’t think much of and neglect. As well as the bigger things that made me happy.

The Happy List

The Happy List {#2}

The second week of The Happy List has been totally epic in my book. I have been able to do so much towards my 30 before Thirty bucketlist and I am excited. Because I don’t wanna jinx it I won’t share much but sharing I certainly will do.

{•} As part of my 30 Countries Before 30, I have 5 Countries left to complete my personal project. This week I have been able to book 1.5 countries and I am very excited about it. I say 1.5 because I will only spend 10 hours or less in one of the countries. It’s because I will be on route to my final destination to start my pre-30th birthday celebrations.

{••} Regular readers know last year I managed to pass my driving test with 4 days to spare. I had made a promise to myself that I should accomplish this before 2016 ended. {I did}. This week the driving licence that I had been fighting with DVLA  for the last 4 months finally came. Now I can start car shopping, hopefully finance will be nice to me.

{•••} Earlier in the week I received an invite asking if I would like to review a restaurant. I have never done restaurant review before so I was pretty excited. And best part I get to take a guest and I chose my sister to go with to London. We’ve decided to make a day out of it, follow my Instagram accounts to see where we are today. @ajulydreamer and @myrabev

Scary Experience

{••••} Three weeks ago whilst in Zambia attending a friend’s wedding I got bitten by a bug. At that point it was just slightly itchy and resembled a tiny pimple. I didn’t think much of it then and even when I return until this week when I found it had grown. It went from being a tiny pimple into something that resembled a ringworm. My mother is a nurse so naturally called her and we tried traditional remedies first (yes I know nurse or not she’s still African).

That didn’t seem to help much until she told me of a program she saw on TV about a girl who had same thing as me. But in her case there were maggots under the skin which the bug laid. I was petrified and we tried the apply Vaseline and if anything moves prick it. It turned out I didn’t have maggots but I still called my doctor who prescribed antibiotic plus my mum who proposed I buy each cream.

Neither of them have I got nor used because on Friday the entire thing dried up and the dead skin fell off and now its new skin which it’s slightly sore. It’s all better now thankfully 😅

And there you have it folks, The Happy List with all the scares and wonderful happenings. Hope you’ve had a blessed week and good luck with the start of the new one.

    It’s a great idea to have a happy list and I’m glad you like to travel in so many countries. Sorry for your bug bite experience but I guess that’s the price we pay for new experiences.
