Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. Honeymoon Destination: Thailand

When I think of my future wedding (hint hint me dude) I don’t think much about the day itself, obviously it is (will be) a special day definitely but thinking about it makes me all sweaty & anxious that I don’t even want to focus on it. Instead I focus my energy on the one place I can not wait to reach: the honeymoon destination.

With the rise in travel bloggers and writers as well as the ever advancing technology at our finger tips, we are not in short supply of ideas of where you can honeymoon. I used to have Hawaii as first choice then in second/third places was Seychelles and Bali but as of late I have been thinking Thailand. I have a lot of friends who’ve been and from their pictures and their stories I have been filled with many tales of beautiful beaches, secluded resorts and overall wonderful weather.

thailand

I figured since Thailand is what I am currently loving, why not ask the one person (my brother-in-law) who I know has been more than once to help me write this post. The places have heard of from other person include: Bangkok, Krabi, Phuket, Hua Hin and Koh Samui. Which all offer anything from hidden and secluded to the most popular resorts in the country. Read more on these destinations HERE.

so over to my brother-in-law

Honeymoon Destination: Thailand

Worried about your honeymoon being ruined by horrible and unpredictable weather? Why not to consider having your honeymoon in Thailand? With tropical weather, sandy beaches and only a few days of rain throughout the months of December to May,  Thailand might be the ideal destination for newlywed couples that are looking for that unforgettable honeymoon.

No wonder Thailand is known as a ‘Land of Smiles’ since you are greeted with smile on the face everywhere you go adding this to a very pleasant experience for the honeymoon.

Most importantly it won’t break your bank as Thailand is very well-known for low food, transportation and accommodation prices. However, that of course depends on your needs and how luxury you want your honeymoon to be. In general most of the resorts offer very competitive prices and usually a 5 star service.

Thailand

Thailand

If sun, picture perfect beaches and a bit of privacy is what you are considering for your honeymoon then heading south of Thailand might be the best choice. With an hour’s flight from Bangkok and a short ferry trip Phi Phi Island might offer just that – white sands, clear waters of Andaman Sea and azure sky. However, the island gets pretty crowded as everyone wants to visit that very well know beach from the movie ‘Beach’ with Leonardo di Caprio. Though with quite large range of resorts everyone should be able to find what suits them best.

However, if you don’t mind travelling a bit further south then Koh Lipe might be the ideal destination for the honeymoon. An hour’s flight from Bangkok to Hat Yai airport and a further 2 hour trip with the bus to the Pakbara pier will require a speedboat to take you to the pristine island of Koh Lipe. Situated right next to the Malaysian border and being part of Tarutao National Park it offers that serene atmosphere that newlyweds are usually looking for -white sand beaches, jungled hills and protected coral reefs surrounding the island. Being an island that 10 years ago no one even knew about it offers still pretty untouched, not very touristy break from the rest of the world just for 2 of you. You won’t find fancy hotels, shopping centers here but instead you’ll get your own private bungalow which is what all the resorts are offering with some of them being right on the white sand beaches and a local market street where you can try all the best of Thai food.
