As the weather slowly changes, it is time start think about how to keep your home fresh and spring ready. Since becoming a homeowner, I have been solely focused on ensuring my home is in tip toe condition spruced and disinfected. And with the current state of affairs, there is no better time than now to install *virus free air purifiers to promote clean air in and around our homes especially as lockdown restrictions are slowly being lifted. Keeping your home fresh and ready for spring doesn’t need to be too complicated and with a few tips, you can spruce up your home and get it ready for Spring.
Spring signifies rebirth for many things especially the plants which means around my home, I need to declutter, pack away the winter woolies and welcome more light into my home. When it comes to my wardrobe, I trade my dark clothes for pastel coloured pieces. I am always excited to wake up every morning with birds chirping near my window and not being greeted by dark mornings. This is why I am excited to share tips on how to keep your home fresh and spring ready.

How to Keep your Home Fresh and Spring Ready
When I was still renting, I found myself limited with how much change I could make to my apartment but that did not stop me from finding ways to make my home spring ready. Simple things like changing the curtains for something more seasonal, adding more plants around my home as well as changing covers on my living room cushions and other accessories. Other things I things that you can do is by decluttering all your rooms, letting the light into your home and giving it life.
Over the last few months of winter, I shut off the vendors on my windows because it was that cold, the heating was on more of the day and I barely opened the windows in fear of the heat escaping. Now that the days get lighter earlier and for longer, I am able to keep my blinds open for longer, windows open throughout the day and allow fresh air to enter my home without freezing to death. The tips I am sharing in this post are very simple and can be implemented weather you own your home or renting.
Add Colourful Plants or Flowers
I am a sucker for flowers and I make a point of buying myself a bouquet every few weeks and this is complimented by the many flowers around my home. Apart from Orchids, for many years I struggled with keeping plants alive and now all 11 plants that I have dotted around in my living room are thriving and not to mention 10 in my kitchen. Flowers give where room in your home life, I have indoor plants all around my home and I just seeing them flourish and bloom.
Update your art work
Even before I bought my home, I knew that I would want certain art pieces around my home. In my adventures across the globe I picked up some street art that I absolutely loved and had it dotted around my living room including some motivational words. The type of art work I have does not require changing every season but I can change up the frames. If however the type of art you have is imposing or seasonal then I recommend changing up your art pieces or better yet moving the around your home.

Let the Light In
When dark days are long, the last thing you want is to open you curtains only to be greeted by darkness and this is why I only opened my curtains for a couple of hours a day during winter. Now that the days are longer, I am opening up my curtains and windows the minute I wake up and letting as much light in as possible. There is nothing like natural light dancing around your home to remind you that it’s day and seeing the sunshine reflected on the walls of my home.
Add a few touches of colour
Adding a few touches of colour to any room in your home can instantly bring brightness into your home. I have a somewhat colourful home and I love colours. I have a colourful corner in my living room which I absolutely adore and the rest has a touch of bright colours to match the season. I am also looking to change up my curtains to a more bright colour that aligns with the theme of my home.
Change up your home scents
I love how each room in my home has its own scent thanks to all the glade plug-ins I have and though the scents are different they are not too overpowering. You can spruce up your home my changing up the scents in and around your home and this can also be achieved by the types of detergents you use for your fabrics. I love using scented fabric softeners especially that last uptown 8-weeks on your clothes keeping them smelling fresh whilst tucked away in wardrobes and drawers. If plug-ins are not your thing you can use essential oils in diffusers.
There are many other ways you can spruce up your home keeping it smelling fresh and ready for spring but don’t forget to check on your electrical’s like your boilers or appliances like your fresh which also needs cleaning.
