With Spring around the corner, there is no better time than now to spruce and disinfect your home for Spring. As someone who declutters their home every 6-weeks, spring cleaning is one of my favourite past time activities. I feel like its the one time in the year that I could truly clean my home top to bottom. With the coronavirus currently spreading the fear of God around, I thought I share tips on how to spruce and disinfect your home for Spring.
As someone who just bought their first property, I am excited to share simple tips on how to refresh your home in time for Spring. I feel moving into my new home just before Spring is the best thing ever, there are so many things I want to decorate my home with. Lately, I have been looking at updating the current radiators with these unique traditional radiators that match my new decor and come in various colours.

How to Spruce and Disinfect your home for Spring
The start of Spring signifies rebirth, an opportunity to start again and that’s how I view spring cleaning. This year spring is a little different to the usual but I am still excited to use the ‘social distancing’, quarantine and isolation as a time to spruce up my home. Moving into a new property means I will be busy trying to figure out what my new decor should be plus a lot of online shopping.
If, like me, you want to spruce and disinfect your home for spring, then follow these simple tips that I always follow. Sprucing up your home for a new season doesn’t always have to cost money but it’s also an opportunity to either repurpose or replace some worn-out items. Below I have listed simple ways to spruce up your home and a few natural products you can use to disinfect your home.
Spruce your home with;
- Change the curtains or wipe the blinds – depending on what you have in your home, sprucing can be as simple as wiping down the blinds or changing the curtains.
- Add flowers to your home – I am someone who buys flowers almost weekly as I love having fresh flowers in my home. I do have a few orchids as well but they bloom so infrequently.
- Update your wall art – if like me you have more art pieces than walls then it pays to change it up every season. I have a few seasonal pieces but the majority is about travel and life quotes.
- Change your cushions – again, I have way more cushions than chairs because cushions are accessories that can spruce up your living room decor.
Disinfect your home with;
- Soap – good to have in your home to remove dirt, germs and viruses
- Vinegar – a natural disinfectant kills mould and can be used to clean various items around your home.
- Tea tree oil – natural antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic and needs to be diluted down to be used as a cleaner.
- Hydrogen Peroxide – natural stain remover and great for carpet stains.
- Baking Soda – great cleaner especially when mixed with vinegar.
With the majority of us working from home the next couple of weeks, there is no better time to spruce up your home in time for Spring than now. Being able to disinfect your home at the same time is not only healthy but great for your family too.
