Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Lee Stafford Academy Straighteners Review {+Giveaway}

Lee Stafford is not just a professional hair dresser, he’s an award-winning hair dressed. He’s someone whose proved that passion coupled with hard work and dedication can help yield your dreams. I first saw Lee Stafford on This morning, a UK entertainment program and loved his styling tips. There are many hairdressers these days and it’s hard to standout but Lee Stafford has done that with his range of salons and products. What I love about his products is that they are not tested on animals and follow the EU Cosmetics Directive. This Directive bans testing of any products or ingredients on animals.

Disclosure: I was sent the Lee Stafford Academy straighteners for the purpose of this review. All opinions and thoughts shared are my own.

Regular readers of this blog know I have had been suffering from struggling with hair loss issues. I shared some hair loss treatment options available that I was considering. Luckily for me I had started to use FolliOne hair products {Shampoo, hair oil and liquid supplement}. These products have really helped my hair to grow back thick and strong, just like before. As much as I am truly happy about my hair growing back as the patch in the middle of my head was starting to worry me. It has also brought back the pain of hair management. Those who know me know I prefer to keep my hair braided than not because I can’t manage nor handle the tangled Afro.

As a child I fought with my mum and aunties constantly when it came to managing my hair. My hair is the thick, tightly knotted hair that only when wet and nicely oiled can you comb it through. My mother, bless her with patience and love was the only one who could manage the mess called hair. Fast forward me leaving home for university and the real struggle began. If my hair was not braided I would rely on straighteners to help me manage my hair. But y’all know I am not good at that so what was one to do? Braid and braid some more but one can only do that for so long until one needs to adapt. Adapt I did, though I don’t do it often I love straightening my hair as it becomes easier to manage.

Thoughts on the product

The Lee Stafford Academy straighteners are the answer to my tangled hair prayers. Looking at the sleek design of them, they are easy to handle and fit right into my hands with ease. I love that in the box they are packed nicely and come with a head guard to store the straighteners easily. As a regular traveler they are perfect fit into my backpack and are very light. I have already managed to travel with them and I didn’t even think I had them in my backpack.

The straighteners do heat up pretty quickly, so I was able to straighten my tangled afro hair with ease. Because of the swivel cord, it was super easy to use and move around without being strangled. The straighteners come with booklets containing tips on how-to straighten hair like a professional. I also loved the little card too, this felt very personal to me, it read welcome you.
