Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Featured Brand} New Chic

new chic

New Chic is an international online fashion store, catering for men, children and women clothing including jewelry and Beauty. The aim of the company is to bring affordable but of high quality products internationally. New Chic does not only sell the aforementioned products but home & garden essentials too. I was fortunate enough a few weeks ago when New Chic reached out for possible feature of the brand on A July Dreamer. Prior to sharing New Chic Wishlist, I had not heard of them but liked them upon first glance.

I spent a couple of hours after trolling researching their website trying to get a feel of the shopping environment. I was impressed with how easy it is to shop with them, like other companies they offer many delivery options. New Chic differs in that, they tell you the delivery schedule for that product e.g. 48 hours. Unlike other companies that only offer delivery options for all products.

new chic

Exposing a shopaholic like me to New Chic was like giving an addict their favourite poison to get high on. I love the range of products they stock for both men and women as well as kids. Though I was am more taken in by the women’s clothing because I love shopping for me.

Disclosure: I purchased products mentioned in this post with a $75 store credit I was given in exchange for an honest review. All opinions and comments shared on brand are 100% my own.

New Chic Product Reviews

*Boots – The boots as I mentioned before are really comfortable and very warm. When I received them, they were nicely packaged in a shoe bag before being out in the shoe box. In the front they have two mini zips which help when putting them on especially with thick socks. Whether I am wearing socks or not the shoes are pretty warm and though not walked in the rain seem durable.

*Bag – The colour sent was not something I had chosen but it worked in small moderation. I normally stay clear of pinks because they are too bright for me and only wear pink lipsticks. But having received this bag I was impressed with how spacious it is inside. It has a zip pocket on the outside and two inside, one in the middle and another on the wall of the bag. Apart from the colour, I did love the quality and look of the bag and the plus side it has a shoulder strap.

Not as expected

*Rose Gold watch – (Ladies watches): I will declare that I was not a fan of the watches I received. The white watch, I loved the design of it but the strap was hard to wear. It was difficult to bend it and attempting to strap was an issue but later was better. I think it became better after several uses otherwise no, I truly struggled. The Rose Gold watch I loved online but not when it arrived, the battery did not work and up close did not look too good. I think with watches you truly get what you pay for and these watches were not top quality.

* Lipstick – I loved this lipstick but I also had a fault with it. I personally think unless your lips are lighter you won’t get your money’s worth. It took 3/4 applications to get that good red colour I thought I got. But I must give credit where it’s due, this lipstick did last over 4 hours, a little more application and last another 4 hours.

I will confess even with the little quacks, I did love the items I got but I would only repurchase the boots. The company seems easy to shop with, they stock some really lovely products but can not guarantee the quality of them.

Have you ever heard of NewChic.com or shopped with them?

What was your experience, was it like mine 60:40?

I love the bag and boots. I find bright pink like “not me” but also have a bag that colour and love it to brighten up a outfit x
