Looking back at each decade, I feel both β€˜older’ and β€˜younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🀣🀣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🀨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Saturday Fab Finds: GoCustomized

Saturday fab finds is a new series on A July Dreamer where I will be sharing my latest finds. The series will feature a variety of products that have been sent to review or purchased myself. I have been wanting to start this series for a while now but never had the time nor motivation.

This week’s fab finds features GoCustomized – a Dutch company that specialises in personalised phone and tablet cases. I recently had an opportunity to design my own personalised phone case for my new Samsung S9+ phone. GoCustomized aims to bring the stale and bland world of smart phones back to life with your designs created by them.Β This is an exciting e-commerce startup company with passionate people behind it to add some flavour with personalized customization.

Who is GoCustomized?

Prior to this collaboration, I wasn’t aware of this Dutch company located in the heart of Amsterdam, Netherlands. I recently spent some time reading about them and here is how they describe themselves:

We focus primarily on the gadget accessories market with our unique and original personalised products. The world of tablets and smartphones has become a bland, expressionless environment where each gadget is but a mimic of its predecessor. We believe we can bring personality and uniqueness back to your favorite gadget in a simple, inexpensive way.

Since the young e-commerce company’s inception back in May 2002, they have made 250 cases and 50 devices. GoCustomized don’t have mass production lines, each product is made specifically for you per your design. They test out all products to ensure a great finish and are always ahead of the competition by creating products for newest models. You can make your own phone case by using your pictures or take inspiration from the website.

Personal Thoughts on Company and Product

Whenever I review products, I always like the chance to try the ordering process like other customers will. Navigating GoCustomized was easy, I was able to quickly locate and choose my phone model and upload a picture of my choice. Being able to preview how the cover will look like on my phone was pretty cool both on mobile and laptop.

Placed order on 7 April, same day I received an email confirming design and order had been received. What I loved about this e-mail is the video they included of how they go about printing the designs, truly fascinating. On 9 April I received a notification via e-mail that my order had been shipped, mid day on 12 April I received the parcel nicely packaged. It took 5 days from design, printing and onto my phone, I personally think this is good timing. I am impressed by the quality of the cover, the design looks amazing and stylish.

Fab finds GoCustomized

Would I recommend GoCustomized?

The simple answer is yes, not because of the collaboration or the truly dedicated team but the quality of it. In my lifetime I have bought countless phone cases, some fade within a few months, others just don’t fit properly. Only a few have survived the test of time and I have a feeling this GoCustomized is one of them. I mean 1000 reviews of the reviews they have received can’t be all wrong.

If you’re looking for a stylish, affordable and personalized case for your phone or tablet, check out GoCustomized.

Love your phone case! I’ve had something similar before, but I can’t find any decent ones for my phone anymore as it’s an older make πŸ™
