SINIVALIA’s Bentonite Clay Detox Face Mask ~ Review

Two years ago when I started blogging I heard about the Bentonite clay and how people were swearing by its good and beneficial properties. I had never heard of it before then nor had I even used it but the ladies I watched on YouTube used Bentonite to grow strong and shiny hair. Like I said I had never heard of this clay and honestly did not bother to find out more until Sinivalia sent the Bentonite clay detox face mask for me to review alongside their other products which you can read my REVIEW about.

Bentonite clay also known as Montmorillonite is a type of clay that is found and formed from volcanic ash and has been around for centuries. Those who know about Bentonite clay call it the healing clay because of its healing and detoxifying properties and has been found to be the only clay that can be mixed with all beauty products. When I received the tub of bentonite clay I will honestly say I did not even read the first part I just read the ‘face mask’ part so was expecting to see the face mask instead I saw the clay powder. I was not sure what to do with it but also I decided to leave it for one free weekend to try the product out. I will fault Sinivalia in that there are no measurements on how much bentonite you’re meant to use with however much water to make the face mask so this was trial and error forme. I did waste quite a bit of clay even when I had literally just used I tbsp of clay and 5 tbsp of warm water I still wasted the clay as once I had mixed and applied to my face there was a lot left over.

The clay is very soft and very smooth even after you mix with water, I noticed that it had oil in it so applied quite easily to my face. It has no parabens and it’s Gluten free, you’re advised to keep the mask on for 15 minutes so the mask can purify and cleanse the skin. I found the mask was very moisturising and I believe it’s due to the oil added it and it does not hurt that Bentonite has anti-ageing properties but the is the first clay mask I have used and I am honestly impressed. Sinivalia recommends you use this clay weekly and I agree, I think I will be continuing to use this clay to pamper myself over the weekends when I am not traveling.
