Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{A July Dreamer} Social Media Goals {Yearly}

Social medial goals are something I have always wanted to do but never actually tried to put together. When I started blogging I focused on producing content (quality or not) and a bit of getting my numbers up. Then I leant a little about blogging, bought my domain and started again on some social media platforms. Part of my January goals is to put together Social media goals for the year. This year I am planning on putting some effort into increasing my social media reach. social media goals

I have never set social media goals before but I do have an idea of the numbers that I am looking for. How I am going to achieve those numbers is a mistory to me but I shall certainly try what I know. If it doesn’t work then I intend to read some books on blogging and social media.  I have been blogging for almost 4 years and not once read a ‘how-to’ blogging book. Yes I have read posts sharing how they achieved this and that but none has worked for me. Hence why I thought it is best if I did my own thing and see what works.

Social Media Goals

Twitter —> Currently 2,506                             Target —> 5,000

Pinterest –> Currently 643                               Target —> 1, 000

Facebook –> Currently 1,595                           Target –> 3,000

Instagram –> Currently 1,357                          Target –> 2000

When it comes to setting goals, I try not to be too over optimistic about them. I always aim for something smart and achievable. I think with every goals set, if you work hard enough they can be achieved especially if you’re consistent. As mentioned already, I have no specific plan to on how achieve these social media goals I am still thinking. But will start with the basics

  • Follow for Follow hashtags
  • Join follow threads in Facebook groups
  • Participate in blogger giveaway buy-ins
  • Follow other bloggers in similar niche and interact with them.

Do you have any social media goals for 2017? Do you have any tips on how to growth social media goals? Please share then in the comments below, even leaving your post links if you’ve written something about them.

I love that you have set goals for your social media following. I do set goals that are often very optimistic, but I think it’s good to live by the saying ‘ shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you will land among the stars’.

I have to admit that I have found follow for follow doesn’t really work as many simply unfollow again. I have built my following organically but it was a long process

I try not to lool at my own numbers, because compared to most, they are frightful. I own goal was to concentrate on my Instagram account, that is still dormant. I had plans, they have come of nothing yet.
