Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Sunday Currently August 2019 | Monthly Series

Affiliate Links

Over the last couple of weeks I have been feeling the blogger block big time and in such times I think post series are often the best. This is why I am sharing the Sunday Currently August 2019 edition, it is a series I have not done for many moons now. The last time I shared a Sunday Currently post was way back in December 2017 when I shared a giveaway. Whilst this time round I do not have a giveaway, the Sunday Currently August 2019 edition is being shared to get me out of the blogger funk I am experiencing.

Whenever I sit down to write the Sunday Currently posts, I always think of the past as one of reflection. Often we forget about the little things in life that we enjoy every day but often don’t give a second thought. What I love about the Sunday Currently August 2019 edition is that it allows me to be more present. As a planner by nature, I often forget to be more present and even more so more thankful for what I already have.

With that being said, I want to focus more of the present and the Sunday Currently August edition affords me that moment.

Sunday Currently August 2019 Edition

Reading: I am currently in between books but having finished Kindred and Queen months ago, I am eager to finish An American Marriage and A Long Night in Paris. Both books are captivating and makes you want to read it all in one seating but I am savouring them for longer flights.

Writing: I have major writer’s block aka blogger block and I am little to no motivation to write posts. Other than this post I have 5 other posts in draft mode but no motivation to complete them.

Listening: At the moment I am listening to everything and nothing, the washing machine is going in the background and Westlife is belting out some of my favourite tunes. At the beginning of the month I just had this huge urge to listen to Westlife again.

Thinking: About all the draft posts I have to get through, the deadlines at work that I need to meet as well as the blog post deadlines. There is so much I want to do and even thoughI have the time, I lack the mojo.

Smelling: The marinated pork I have in the fridge for my lunch and dinner tonight as well as the laundry detergent in seeping through the washing machine. In my head I want to also smell chocolate as I am craving it big time.

Wishing: I could get my act together, write the blog posts, catch up on my work projects, plan my itinerary for Geneva and book the flight to Seoul already.

Hoping: I can accomplish all the things I am currently wishing I should get done before the end of the month. The next two weeks will be absolutely chaotic to say the least but I am excited for them.

Wearing: Bathroom because it’s Sunday and I can not be asked to dress up, do my hair nor my makeup. Today is the day of rest, catching up on the laundry, hopefully a day I can get over my writers block.

Watching: Cartoons {Incredibles 2, Tangled, Anastasia, Mulan}, these are my fallback movies to watch especially when I am trying to work and not get distracted by what’s on TV.

Reading through the post I realise my motivation is not all gone, this is why I love series as they remind you of all you have to say. I am excited to share posts on my recent visit to Edinburgh and many more.

Maybe you need a break from the blog – I found I was putting too much pressure on myself to post daily but once I had a break I felt so much better!!
