“Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body” and the best books I have read this month are such a flex for your minds muscle. Since I rekindled my love for reading over lockdown #4689652, I have not gone a day without picking up a book and reading at least one page or a chapter thanks to “Atomic Habit”. Regular readers will know I have been reading lots of books on money (saving and investing it) as well as “self-help” style books to lead a more productive and international life.
The best books I have read this month are indicative of some of the topics I cover on this blog as well as my YouTube channel which I consider an extension to this blog. Among my close friends and family I am known as both a saver and a spontaneous traveller (just ask my mum!!) and I am happy about that. There is a running joke in my group that reads, “what would Miranda do?” and it makes me even happier if the question is on money, travel or important life decisions. What my friends don’t know is everything I know is from reading books and putting what I learn to the test, some things work out well others not so much – circle of life.

The Best Books I have Read this Month
With life getting back to some normalcy, I am excited to start local adventures again and sit down somewhere secluded with a nice book getting lost between the pages. I have purchased two more books this month because I am 95% done with the reading list I am sharing in this post so I need to top-up again. Obviously all my spending is being tracked in both my weekly and monthly trackers which are available on my Etsy shop for purchase only £0.99 + VAT. Speaking of taxes, I filed my 2020/2021 taxes last week a day after the tax year ended and I got my tax refund which was super welcome.
Back to the land of books, the books I have read this month or should I say the pages I got lost in so far this month have been an eye opener. I shared reviews on ‘The richest man in Babylon” and ‘how to save it’ then the daily stoics is a ‘read-one-page’ a day type of book. As for the ‘4-hour work week’ I am reading it slowly to saver the content as it’s soo good and though I don’t intend to reduce my hours to that much there is a lot of other ideas I can implement in my current work life. I have even gone as far as sharing the 4-hour work week with my boss and the rest of our team so we can all use our time wisely.

Because I don’t to spoil the two of the best books I have read this month, I will give a quick snapshot of both below and the links above you can read the full review. Both the richest man in Babylon and how to save it books are money related books but the Babylon one is staged in the biblical times whereas how to save it keeps a more personal account as well as educates you in the process. For those who are not good at their finances both books can teach you the basics and the second book has modern day examples whereas Babylon has historical parables in my humble opinion.
Reading books is one of my favourite past times and I have taken up the love even more so during the lockdown and even on our first vacation post locked (hint: Dubai) I shall be taking whatever books I am reading to lounge on the beach and enjoy the sun and listen to the sound of the sea as I get lost between the pages. Because I don’t like being without books (even though I am still to finish the 4-hour work week), I have purchased two more books that I hope to share my thoughts on soon enough on the blog. These are called ‘Money, know more, make more and give more by Rob Moore’ how very poetic. The second book is The 5 AM Club: Own Your Morning. Elevate Your Life I am excited to read this book as I have heard rave reviews on this self-help book and can not wait to get stuck in.
What are some of the best books you have read so far this month? Read any of the books I have mentioned above or will you be checking any of them out?

The 5am book sounds good as I am usually quite an early bird. I read such a mixture of books and two recent favourites of mine was the Elton John biography and The Midnight Library so nothing money related this time x
