Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Travel} A Perfect winter break

When 2015 started, I made a promise to myself that I would travel more than I have ever before and experience more things than ever before. I will be honest, I did not think it would be this good or that I would find myself in such a blessed position. I had such a bad 2014 and I felt as though nothing was working for me, the few times that I travelled abroad last year I felt so alive and so liberated which resulted in my 2015 dream to go abroad more.

Though I am totally loving traveling abroad either for business or personal reasons I think it is also very important to also throw in the mix some mini breaks homeside. I am a big advocate for mini breaks, I believe they are very essential when feeling stressed out or just want to have some alone time or spend time with that special someone.

Lately Boo and I have been thinking about where we could go for a mini break and I have been secretly thinking about what my idea of ‘A Perfect mini break’ is. I have a lot going on at work and personal and always feel like every few months I should have a mini break. I believe it’s good for the soul and always leaves me feeling refreshed more than when I go on holiday.

Living in the UK, there are so many advantages and so many different places I can visit. London alone can have so many options to choose from, especially if you want to treat yourself and indulge in a luxury weekend. I am looking for a perfect weekend away, one where you could really treat yourself and take full advantage of the city.

I recently stumbled across this beautiful hotel which offers guests a completely different kind of stay. I think we often forget to take advantage of our own country, and all the great things we have to offer. Maybe it’s time to be a tourist in England for a little while.

I also love tea houses that are very popular in Oxford and London too, there is just something about going for scones and a cup of tea that just screams ‘RELAXING’ without even trying.

Everyone has different tastes but for me, what you see in these pictures (taken by BIL) are what I think A perfect mini break should be.

You don’t always have to travel far to fulfill your wish to travel more. Sometimes being a tourist in your own city can be a mini vacation. Love the pictures!

There are so many places here in the UK that I would like to visit on a long weekend, especially in the South of England which looks so picturesque.

This looks like an ideal weekend away from the hustle and bustle of London, just to destress for a few days 🙂

Absolutely, even though I do not live in London I feel like a weekend getaway to another town can help destress from everyday life.
