Travel accessories that I love

As a frequent traveller, there is nothing I love more than sharing the travel accessories that I love especially when I add new ones to the list. I have been solo travelling since 2016 and since then, I have cultivated a list of things that I will always travel with no matter what. For today’s post I am going to focus on new travel accessories that I love or should I say, I have been loving lately.

One of my favourite quotes reads “Once a year, go somewhere you have never been” and every year I strive to do just that. This year, I am fortunate to have a number of new destinations being added to my list that I can not wait to share with you all but before then, I want to share the travel accessories that I love and I think you would too. These items in my opinion are budget friendly but then again, ‘budget friendly’ is a relative term as we all operate from different budgets.

Travel Accessories that I Love

This year, I am on track to add 2 new countries to my list of countries that I have visited. I am someone who loves repeating destinations especially European destinations as they are so nearby and most are very affordable. This year I managed to visit Barcelona again for the millionth time and I still loved the visit, what was different this time are the gadgets that I took with me plus the company I had.

The products I mention here are those that I am using myself and have experience using so that I can give first-hand experience on how I found travelling with these accessories and what I loved about them. Not everything on the list below is for everyone but I hope one of the items on this list makes it onto your list of travel accessories that (you) love and would recommend to those around you.

Water Bottle

I might not be known for my water consumption but one thing that I love and has saved me money is taking with me my water bottle. For many years I used to always buy water at the airport and we know how extortionate airport prices are but I didn’t care. Back then, I felt it was all part of the experience of travelling until I bought a bottle of water for £8.99 I knew it was time to start bringing my own water bottle and refilling at the same free water dispensers at the airport.

Travel Tea set

This is a new one that I started using only this year but I don’t imagine not travelling with my new travel tea set. As someone who consumes tea and coffee in worrisome amounts, I am surprised I didn’t think of taking something like this with me over the last 7 years of solo travel. I have a personal routine that I don’t like deviating from and that is, every morning after waking up and brushing my tea, I NEED to have a cuppa of either tea or coffee, sometimes this can be difficult when you are in transit but now with my new travel set, I just need hot water and I am good to go.

What I have absolutely loved about this travel tea set is how compact it is, and how it fits into all my travel bags even when I am only using a backpack, which is 90% of the time. Travel Adapter & Power Bank

Now you know if you don’t have this one then you are a novice traveller (no offence) because every traveller knows not every destination has the same adapters so it makes sense to always carry one with you. There are so many places you can grab a multi-destination adapter including Amazon. When it comes to power banks, I have had a number of them and recently I came across the powerpack universal and I knew I had to get one because this is a game changer for many of us frequent travellers.

Keyboard for iPad

As someone part of the hand luggage-only crew, I often have to leave the majority of my electronics except my iPad mini as I can work on it easily however I prefer to have a portable keyboard. This is why if you are someone like me who still needs to work (personal or otherwise) on the goal, I highly recommend a device that allows you to hook up a portable keyboard.

Neck pillow

Now hear me out because I seem to have become an expert on losing my neck pillows, to date I have lost 4 during transit or left it accidentally on vacation. I still carry ones that I can hook to my backpack and highly recommend them regardless of the duration of your flight. Neck pillows range in price and having tried a few, there are only a few that I would splash money on otherwise there are many affordable ones on Amazon.
